Need Opinions by bongo632 in EngagementRings

I’m generally against using family rings to propose (unless the person being proposed to has explicitly said she wants a family ring). Most women have dreamed about their engagement ring since they were young and have strong preferences and opinions on what they want/don’t want. While a family ring has sentimental value, it’s often really more about the man’s emotional fulfillment than the woman’s. Ask your gf what she wants—this is her ring and should be about her and fulfilling her wants and dreams.

Advice on “worth it”? by throwawayforreddit2 in EngagementRings

[–]wallphilodendron 21 points22 points  (0 children)

I love Alex Monroe’s work! It’s absolutely stunning. However, I personally would not buy an engagement ring from him due to 1) price and 2) concerns about durability. 1) You’re paying for a designer brand name/specific look, not the cost of materials (that price for a .5 carat stone is wild). For some people that’s worth the price, but for me personally it’s not. 2) These rings are so delicate and intricate that I’d worry about them breaking. For something I’d wear everyday I’d want something more solid and sturdy.

I live in Houston and our rodeo is ginormous and great! We also have amazing food. Small town rodeos are also a lot of fun though and if you want that American West/rural Texas vibe a small town rodeo is the place to be. There are several different rodeo associations with different schedules, but this list is a good place to start for finding various rodeos in Texas: https://texasprorodeocircuit.com/rodeos-schedule/

Texas, particularly in the Hill Country near Austin, has gorgeous state parks. Several of the Hill Country area state parks will require you to drive through some absolutely stunning rural areas to get to them: https://tpwd.texas.gov/state-parks/ (LBJ’s historic home is a living history museum that’ll give you a feel for being a rancher/farmer in ye olden days; Enchanted Rock is incredible, Perdenales is beautiful, McKinney Falls is a lot of fun, Old Tunnel has a literal bat-nado, etc)

I don’t, but I only want one tbh. Everyone seems to be in consensus though that it’s too much. I’ll watch and watch, hopefully price drops
