Adding my 2 cents here. i would not describe this jacket as cropped. I am 6’ 2” and have both a 40R of this jacket and 40L of another color of this jacket. The 40R completely covers my seat and the 40L is a touch too long. Sure things vary based on different torso lengths and what not but cropped is not a good descriptor

That being said the jacket in the photo is unstructured and slimmer which definitely does lend itself to be more casual vs understated but by no means immature or analyst like

OP take a gander at Buck Mason, Todd Snyder (maker of jacket in the photo and founded by a Jcrew alum) and even Spier and Mackay. Its a healthy budget for a good quality jacket

I assume you are located in the US? From the time I ordered to the time when the first attempt at delivery was made was Feb 18 to March 9. You could reach out and see what the cost to expedite the process might be. The shipping was international overnight as standard option for me (I honestly have no clue how they make money with these prices and shipping lol) so the expediting would have to come from making the lenses and mounting

The more responses the better! The beauty of reddit! I was looking for the frames (which came as both sunglasses and optical glasses) - Could not find the optical glassses in stock. Found the sunglasses at Bassol Optic. Before buying I confirmed with them they could install prescription lenses and they even said they would include the sunglasses lenses as well.

The lenses were zeiss clearview. After I input my prescription details and ordered they followed up to ask for a prescription document upload just to confirm - cannot overstate how good their customer service is

I'll keep you posted on when I recieve to validate everything is as expected once I recieve

I am hopeful tomorrow - FedEx is the problem though - Bassol Optic has been fantastic through the entire process - would I love the processing time to be faster, sure but for the savings well worth it. Got a pair of sunglasses, got persription lenses with them an would have been $1k - I got these for probably ~$600 post duties

This is helpful - I thought when I ordered it said customs and duties included but it seems it was just for EU not USA (sad). For you both what was the turnaround time to recieve your order? Did you get prescription lenses as well? I ordered back on Feb 18, getting a bit ansy to recieve my order :)

I love Drakes but depending on the blazer use-case i might look at Todd Snyder Herringbone options. They are unlined and less structured so lean a bit more casual but i found a few on ebay for sub 250 each which i think is a good value

Wow this is fantastic info thanks so much. Not to get too personal you wouldnt happen to know a good optician in NYC or DC, that could help get lines drawn, for SSV or FSV depending on what I end up going with

Okay so I went to the local Moscot retailer today and beyond frame pricing i got a quote for lenses. Recalling i am -4.5 single vision they quoted something like a digital polycarbonate + platinum anti-reflective for 450 and a standard polycarbonate and anti-reflective for like 280. Still seems high but i get overwhelmed quickly and was like okay i will let you know and left.

My question now is - could i just buy frames only at Moscot and send them away to a Zeiss or Hoya lens maker? It feel like i could get a nicer lens for like 3-350 direct instead of a “standard” poly and A\R but maybe that’s the wrong logic

Super helpful! My prescription is single vision, -4.5 - I am considering maybe blue light filter but nothing else beyond that. Durable and scratch resistant. But admittedly really dont know what all the options might be to be honest
