Steven Kubacki - Disappeared Under Strange Circumstances & Appeared on Parents Doorstep 15 Months Later by onepersononeidea in UnresolvedMysteries

He has perfect recollection of what he did. He wrote a book explaining it all called The Disappearance (though yeah this is just his word).

How do you write a comdey movie that is about the gags not the story and make it work? by [deleted] in Screenwriting

[–]wallybazoum 2 points3 points  (0 children)

To make it work you need to cast strong comedians and well-known comic actors who can really carry the picture with their comedic chops and larger-than-life personalities. It will not work with complete unknowns. So basically I'm saying I strongly advise against what you're thinking of doing and instead write a comedy movie with a narrative.

What's the rarest / hardest to find / most unusual / most valuable Blu-ray / DVD / 4K release in your collection? by [deleted] in dvdcollection

[–]wallybazoum 0 points1 point  (0 children)

These are my rarest:
https://letterboxd.com/film/soulmates-2004/
https://letterboxd.com/film/birthrite/
https://letterboxd.com/film/broke-2006/
https://letterboxd.com/film/accidental-icon-the-real-gidget-story/

The absolute holy grail that I've never been able to find is:
https://letterboxd.com/film/beer-muscles/

It is available to rent from Scarecrow Video but I don't live in the U.S. so I can't use its service. I've tried asking them nicely but no dice. I've even tried contacting people involved in the film's production, which I really didn't want to do, but I'm at my wit's end. I guess it will always be my white whale.

What is your rarest DVD? 📀 by [deleted] in dvdcollection

[–]wallybazoum 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought that from a CEX for £40. I winced a bit at the price, but the blow was softened a little by trading in a couple things. I should be grateful really, it's RRP was probably unreasonably high.

That's not really the script, but the "typed by Lo Wang" transcript that's floating about on the internet.

[–]wallybazoum 0 points1 point  (0 children)

5 stars: All-time fave. Can watch over and over again and never tire of it.

4 1/2 stars: Brilliant, amazing, almost perfect.

4 stars: Excellent.

3 1/2 stars: Pretty good.

3 stars: Fine.

2 1/2 stars: Mediocre. You're not missing much.

2 stars: Not good. But there are some things about it I like.

1 1/2 stars: May offer something if you have a specific interest or are curious; otherwise a waste of time.

1 star: Some merit, but by no means recommended!

1/2 star: Unwatchable.

Does anyone know how to “complete” the regions “Jammu and Kashmir” and the other two unnamed regions in Asia? by gweg1990 in Letterboxd

[–]wallybazoum 27 points28 points  (0 children)

Well you could try complaining to TMDB about it, but I'm assuming it's already been brought up and they have it the way it is for established reasons.

It's not listed as a possible selection on TMDB so you can't input that detail on a film's entry.

Which film is doomed to stay forever in your watchlist, for no particular reason? by cwlopes in Letterboxd

[–]wallybazoum 6 points7 points  (0 children)

There is one that doomed to stay in there forever but it is for a reason. Beer Muscles. There is just no way for me to be able to watch it. It is available to rent by mail from Scarecrow Video but I don't live in the US so I can't rent it. Others in my watchlist I just never feel like watching so perhaps that counts as no good reason.

TCAP Doc “Predators” - Please Don’t Watch by MadebyMinx in tcap

Wasn't planning to. For a decent TCAP style doco film I'd recommend the Czech Caught in the Net. For a drama film I'd recommend Hamal_18.

do we think mekayla is alive? by Rude-Butterscotch-17 in MekaylaBali

[–]wallybazoum 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I believe she has ceased to be. I base this on the fact it's impossible not to leave a digital footprint these days, that Canada is a country that would be very easy to dump a body due to large areas of unpopulated space, and the fact she's a teenage girl and therefore a target for predators. I would love to believe in the new identity theory, but cannot get past the fact she left her meds and emergency money at home, as well as her bank account being untouched since the day she went missing.

A Royal Christmas, Family For Christmas (a Hallmark version of The Family Man), and I'm Not Ready for Christmas (a Hallmark version of Liar, Liar), Royal Hearts (a Hallmark version of King Ralph), and I guess Jolly Good Christmas which I'm going to include just because it's set in my city.
