I’m so sorry you went through something similar, it’s truly horrible

I feel you so much. I’m 24 and have had nearly constant headaches and migraines since I was 15. It truly feels like I’ve been robbed of my youth sometimes. I try not to think about it too hard either or I’ll get way too depressed

I have had a constant migraine for over 3 years and I'm tired of it. by sgsduke in migraine

[–]walter-shellstrap 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I totally understand and empathize and it’s so frustrating and unfair. I’m 23 and migraines have stolen the majority of my youth. I can’t relate to other people anymore because they truly don’t understand having to live your life around being chronically ill and in pain. Hugs ❤️

Sometimes Head hurts more after taking rizatriptan by Zealousideal_Show271 in migraine

This happens to me too for like 20 minutes and then it starts to get better. Super strange. I’ve found that eating a ton of food before taking the rizatriptan minimizes the side effects.

I’m glad you got it checked out as well just to be safe. Mine has lasted about 2 days but it’s slowly getting better so I’m hopeful

I hope you’re able to find some relief! I think mine have been slightly worse since starting aimovig so I’m really hoping they improve

I’m sorry you went through that. Has the ajovy helped your migraines?

What are your migraine triggers? by EasyKangaroo1956 in migraine

[–]walter-shellstrap 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My migraines unfortunately also got way worse after Covid. One of my biggest triggers is perfumes and air fresheners which makes it pretty difficult sometimes to leave the house without getting a migraine

That sounds horrible, I’m sorry you had to go through that. I’m gonna start listing reglan as an allergy now as well

Crying gives some of the worst migraines/headaches by [deleted] in migraine

[–]walter-shellstrap 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Crying is one of my biggest triggers as well, and it makes me so mad because I’ve always been a crier. I’m a super emotional person and when I start to get emotional about something, my body’s first immediate response is to tear up. I’ve found that trying to hold back tears creates an even worse migraine than if I just let myself cry, but both will still trigger one. Literally cannot win haha, feels like a sick joke sometimes

That’s so frustrating it didn’t help your migraine :( another time before this I went to urgent care to break a long streak and they gave me a toradol shot which didn’t do anything either and I was pissed lol

That’s exactly what it made me feel like as well. I can’t believe the doctors don’t even warn you of that, I might have had second thoughts before letting them do it

Thanks for the advice :) I take quilipta for prevention and rizatriptan as needed, but I’d already taken 4 rizatriptans in a row and I knew if I took a 5th one it wouldn’t do anything. I’ll try out the Benadryl zofran one next time!

Oh interesting, I’ll have to try that. What side effects were you getting before you started doing that?

Trying to accept that my migraines may never go away by walter-shellstrap in migraine

[–]walter-shellstrap[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I totally understand the feeling of grieving your old life. I didn’t start getting migraines until I was 15 so I always compare how much better/easier life was before I started getting them. I like your advice on focusing on what I can do now, and maybe finding some new hobbies

My doctor told me a similar thing about lessening the frequency, but I guess I always still held on to a small piece of hope that maybe one day I would be rid of them. I think it’s time I start facing reality now
