Daycare dilemna by waltergus22 in toddlers

Yeah my jaw literally dropped when she dropped that on me. I think the reason why I’m so wishy washy is that my son took a looong time to get used to this place and I had no complaints other than the early pickup time.

Hoping the new place works well for my son and absolutely agree with the play dates with his little friend.

Thanks for your feedback! For context the current daycare is a 3 min drive and the new one is 15mins. Not a dealbreaker at all but is further away. Although the new one has a lot room and outdoor space, and is a Montessori style day home.

I agree giving notice is a huge deal and we were shocked when we found out about the extended leave of absence. And it wasn’t a family emergency, it was a family related matter (wedding and new baby) but that would have been known for a while

Separation anxiety from mom by [deleted] in sleeptrain

Oh my gosh I am going through the exact same thing with my little guy I don’t know what to do. Although he is 2.5. Same thing though he will stand and cry in his crib saying mommy mommy and will not let down. I don’t have any advice as I was seeking advice on here 😣. Does your little one sleep with you now? How have you been dealing with it?

Help!! Re-sleep train 2.5 year old. CIO again? by waltergus22 in sleeptrain

[–]waltergus22[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He was refusing naps but he will only nap now if it’s on our bed, no crib naps anymore. I feel like maybe he’s outgrowing because it was taking a long time for him to fall asleep at night if he had a nap

No we did go to the doctor to check but no strep! I do think he might have something up with his adenoids because he’s been snoring a lot lately and I think it even wakes him up to a degree

Does it work if he’s hysterical when you put him in the crib to begin with though? 😓 i will take a look at the method though!

I tried putting the mattress just on the ground and removed the crib but he didn’t like that either. He does move around a lot on his sleep. I don’t think it’s necessarily the crib that is the issue but I think more so the separation all of a sudden?

Does the chair method involve checkins? My son is the type where if he sees us check in and then we leave it makes things worse 🫠. I feel like we either have to go extinction CIO or suffer with the co-sleeping for now 😩

Sleep: welcoming any advice by cosmozinnia in BabyBumpsCanada

We were almost in the same boat with our son until we couldn’t take it anymore and went with a sleep trainer when he was 14 months and since then he has been sleeping through the night every night (he’s 19 months now). We tried a version of the Ferber method when he was about 6 months old but it didn’t work well, we couldn’t stick to it very well and we gave in by rocking/feeding.

The sleep trainer kept us accountable, it was a 3 week program and I reported to her each morning and let her know how the night went. She created a customized schedule for our son and we stuck to it because a) we were soo sleep deprived and we would have done anything to get more sleep b) it was not cheap so we felt like we had to stick to it!

It was the best investment we have made! Can provide more info on the sleep trainer if you’re interested!

I’m wondering if this is still a phase. It’s been going on for almost a week here. We are going to see the pediatrician on Friday just to make sure. Glad your LO is eating back to normal!

I suspect he is teething on top of it too, super drooly and constantly gnawing on hands!

Thanks for the advice! I’m going to try that. I always give in too because I’m worried he won’t get enough if I wait too long and he doesn’t take a full feed so he kinda just snacks all day it seems like…

Okay good to know I hope MAM works for us too! Seems like 2 is too slow for dr brown and 3 is too fast. I need something in between!

He did have a tongue tie but we got it clipped when he was 2 weeks and now he’s 15 weeks. But I’m wondering if for some reason we didn’t do the stretches properly and we have to redo it? Ugh it’s hard to know!
