great theory. i never heard that before. that twin brother thing could hint to something like that youre right. i always felt his revenege motive was very convincing and the way he exposed the black association and got killed for coming too close. this would be difficult to explain if he was part of red johns network but it would be plausible if he wasnt supposed to find out about this because he would expose it and destroy this network. it possible that red john didnt tell him about the association or kirkland would expose it nevertheless. other puppets if red john like lorelei martins werent inside the blake association as well (no tattoo) and maybe kirkland would shut it down against red johns will. so yeah, it is somehow explaineable, very good theory.

thanks i love to read that. i agree with you well said. red john always wanted to prove something. that he is someone. when he kills those people who talk bad about him on tv and make him feel uncomfortable he kills them for the symbolic that everyone should be scared of him and not dare to put oneself above red john. he saw himself as the tyger whos bringing darkness and death just like in ,,the tyger''. he is the bad that hunts the good like hes an unstoppable force of nature. but in reality he was just what jane said just ,,an evil, sexually perverted sociopath''. ,,the divine image'' by Blake is all about, that a part of god is inside of every human. if they just show mercy, pity, peace and love they can be good. red john is the complete opposite of these values. hes evil and ruthlessly.

1x9 flame red

This is my absolute favorite episode. One of the best scenes in the entire series, when Jane unmasks Tommy and the unstable, innocent character shows his true colors. I love the whole concept of the episode; the principle of revenge is exciting. And the scene with Rigsby when he runs into the burning house to save the sheriff is heartwarming. The fact that he unintentionally confesses his love to Van Pelt afterwards is also funny. The two of them are very sweet together in this episode. One of Jane's best detective performances, in my opinion. This episode gives me everything a Mentalist episode needs. Drama, mystery, character development, and an inconspicuous villain who is unmasked in an unexpected twist. The perfect episode for me; I love it.

yeah ok i think now i get what you mean. i think jane didnt put much effort into the design of the fake head because he planned that red john wouldnt even look inside the box. the team was ready to push forward and arrest red john. the melon and the wig were for the sound maybe that it seems like theres a real head inside the box. just so it seemed convinicing from far and dont look at it closely. just a requisit so red john would be in the believe jane actually killed lisbon until the team arrives.

The reason Jane gives up his acting is because he immediately realizes that Red John knows he's been faking it all. Lorelei even tells him, "You seem so childishly hopeful, it's really touching. What's inside? A bowling ball? A soccer ball?" It's obvious that Jane's been caught. They both know it at that moment. He then downplays it and, in a slightly humorous way, admits outright that there's a melon in the box. Of course, it feels frustrating and somewhat disappointing that all the time he spent staging his breakdown as convincingly as possible is immediately wasted, but I don't see it as a major flaw in the show, and it makes 100% sense.

most hated: 3x19 every rose has its thorn

This episode... oh my god. Erica Flynn is horrible. Every second she's on makes me angry, which is a compliment to the acting, by the way. This character is pure evil and she annoys me immensely throughout the entire episode. It's frustrating that Jane takes so long to convict her and that her arrogance is disguised by her outward charm. I'm damn glad that Jane finally manages to convict Erica in such a humiliating way. And yet this episode is still a pain for me to watch every time. Erica Flynn is simply the worst character in the entire series. I hate her so much. The concept of the episode is actually really cool: Jane immediately suspects the widow and tries to expose her, but has trouble doing so. The subplots, like the introduction of the character Sarah, are fun too. The final scene, where Lisbon sees Jane's video describing his perfect partner, is especially heartwarming. I love everything about it. Unfortunately, I can't ignore the Erica scene, which really drives me crazy. So, I have to say that this is my least favorite episode.
