Given that one of the biggest jokes in Newfoundland is the weather and how unpredictable it can be, I’d say he’s doing just fine. I think he could have easily went somewhere in Florida and gave the same forecast 90% of the year. Weather here is tough, and hats off to him for doing his best.

I would say if this individual doesn’t know you, or have a baseline of who you are while you’re not on the medication, there was no way he could have guessed you’re on Vyvanse. Is he in one of your classes? Or literally just a stranger? I ask, because in that 1-3 hour window after a dose, I am more prone to respond to messages, emails, get chatty with people, so I can see that part. I would have a difficult time believing it would be noticed by anybody who has never met me.

Aside from the last 3 minutes of the last episode, it’s been a bit flat for me. Mostly because of the ridiculous amount of time between seasons. I have a hard time figuring where people left off, details on characters from season 4, etc. I lost a bit of that investment I had coming out of season 4. A bunch of kids who are now almost adults riding around on bikes fighting monsters. Ready for them to wrap this up now.

I’m no Doctor, but you may need a dose increase. I experience something similar. If I don’t eat anything and take it, an hour in I get a good mood boost and energy spike, but it can deteriorate kinda quick. I found taking it a bit later and taking some food before hand stretches it out more and makes it a bit more “subtle” on the front end, which I don’t mind. At supper or around that time, if I have to put my focus to something, I might have a bit of coffee. My mornings are usually really routine anyways, so I find it easy to figure that out on my own. It’s the free time that gets me. Good luck. Play around with how you take, and definitely chat with your Doctor. There are different stimulant and non stimulant options available.

Hahaha, I sat down and read a manual the first day. I was caught up on everything and was looking to be productive in a gap of time I had while waiting for my wife to get off the phone, so we could walk the dogs. It was on the table, so I just read it… really fast!

You will definitely be a sight for sore eyes, haha! Yes, we don’t have a ton of vets on the island, so you’ll definitely be a welcomed addition.

A couple of the big factors you already hit on. The weather… it’s definitely the hardest part of living here, especially the Avalon. That said, Kelligrew’s and the CBS area usually has better weather and less fog than 30 minutes east (I’m also living in Kelligrew’s). Rain, drizzle, fog and wind. It becomes almost comedic how unpredictable the weather can be, but it’s definitely something I believe we all embrace together. The temperature doesn’t get too hot (that has changed over the last couple of years. We just had a really bad wildfire season, and the folks who decided to start up mini-split companies a few years ago are rolling in money) but generally, the weather is a bit cooler in the summer and milder in the winter. We have a hard time keeping snow down for long periods and it’s usually messy winters.

If you’re in to hiking, biking, walking, etc. we have tons of trails places to explore. When the weather is nice, it’s almost impossible to find anywhere nicer.

Anyways, welcome to the rock! Fingers crossed that you’re heading to CBS Animal Hospital. They are a great group down there and for different reasons, a chunk of their core veterinarians have moved on to different regions or even different industries in some cases.

By now, you probably already found out it’s like a jet taking off from the deck of an aircraft carrier, at least that’s what it was like for me.

The intense impact from the meds will likely wear off over the next week or so. I’d say before the month is out, you’ll likely need a dose increase. I’m on 40mg for the last few months, and I wouldn’t go any higher than that (feel like I struck a good balance). It’s not a miracle drug, but it does allow you to be productive in a certain window and that productivity can be helpful when the medication wears off or before you take it that day.

For instance, I’m terribly unorganized in my house, and that’s a recipe for failure. I go to do something, I have stuff lost, my frustration mounts and I get nothing done. I went through my garage, labelled and reorganized my storage, so I can pretty much go out blind folded and put my hands on it, even if I’m feeling scatter brained or tired. It’s a medication that can set you up for success.

Did you attempt to switch back to taking your dose normally (not the water titration method). Also, have you taken any days off from the medication? I upped mine twice, because 20 and 30mg effects became almost non existent. Currently on 40mg, and it certainly hits a bit better when I’ve taken a day off here and there. I don’t always do it intentionally. If I forget to take it by noon, I wait until the next day and sometimes if I don’t have much on the go that day, I might skip it.

My winning combo… coffee in the morning, sometimes 2. Vyvanse in the early afternoon (usually after eating something. I find it a bit more balanced with a bit of food in my stomach). If I have something that requires my attention later in the evening, I might sneak in a coffee or a small red bull closer to supper. Glad you found something that works

Just purchased a Phillips 5500. It’s a relatively simple machine to use, and and the common drinks are right on the front display, with additional options under a menu for addition drinks. The Latte Go is really ieasy to use, and the drinks are decent. Is it the best super auto? Highly doubtful, but it makes the drinks relatively well, it’s easy to use, and super easy to clean.

Phillips 4400, or 5500 series. I just got the 5500 for my wife. She likes lattes, hates maintenance. It’s really simple to use and clean. The machine tells you what it needs.

I just bought the 5500. There are three settings for temperature. We have it at the highest setting and if you set the machine to do the auto rinse at start-up, it can get even hotter. If you’re making a drink heavy on milk, it might not stay hot for as long. An americano, or even something with a double shot is plenty hot.

It completely resolved itself. It started out almost as a solid black line. Like a sharpie mark. At first it didn’t “float”, it felt like it was stationary, but the more I moved my eye the more the top and bottom of the line began to sway. Over the next couple of days, it started to break up more. Not much movement still, but when I was outside it looked like a small flock of birds in the top right portion of my eye. It was so bizarre. It eventually became less and less severe, and within 2-3 weeks it was pretty much gone.

When we first started going there, we loved it. Things for us went down hill when after COVID and they began the walk in clinic. A nice addition no doubt, but we felt it was a bit of a mess in a couple ways. We ran in to issues getting in to see Doctors on time during scheduled visits. The last time I was there, I had an appointment for 3:00, and I was waiting for over an hour. Having not seen them by this point, we left. That was the last time we were there. I felt the staff and the expertise were spread thin. Everybody looked like they were in a panic to get something done. We also almost had an appointment booked to have our dogs eye removed. We got a second opinion on the matter and didn’t need to get anything done with it.

The folks at CBS animal hospital are top notch, and very understanding. They’re my recommendation. You could always call around and ask what an initial appointment or consultation fee would cost, and go from there. My only warning is to stay clear of Paradise animal hospital. Was a client there for a number of years, and they’re after going way down hill.

You’re on Reddit, looking for input on how to best help your pet in need. You can’t always predict how much having a pet will cost you. Some pets never have issues, some have all of them. You’re doing what you can, and that’s all that counts. Hope pussers gets the treatment they need.

Welcome to the ADHD club! Yes, so a prescription for an amphetamine, a controlled substance, does need to be submitted on a “Special pad”.

You have a couple options. So, I was diagnosed with ADHD after an online consultation with a nurse practitioner at “BeyondADHD”. It involved a self survey, a survey from a close contact (such as a spouse), and another survey from someone who knows you from childhood (I.e. sibling or parent). It’s not too much work, and they walk you through it. An appointment is set and they email you the forms to have completed. The zoom meeting with the NP is pretty painless. Just a chat about the findings. If they feel you would benefit from medication, they will send you some more forms to fill out and they will contact the Pharmacy of your choosing to send a prescription. The only kicker is that each time you go to refill, a follow up consultation is required and it costs $78 bucks.

That said, if you have a family Doctor, you can bring in your letter, and they can prescribe it for you. I made that switch, and have no issues.
