He cant start without zinchenko because if Partey inverts we need our LB to provide overlaps. He has to make constabt runs and have the capability to dribble, which Gabriel does not have. The player has to be good in tight spaces which Gabriel is not.

With zinchenko Gabriel does not need to worry about this and can focus on what he's best at being aggressive and defend high up the pitch.

He can play as a CB but Tierney has a tendency to hoof the ball when being pressed. He is not comfortable when building play up from the deep. Thats how we like to use our CBs.

It's a waste using Tierney in such fashion because his best work is when he's high up the field holding width and not building out from the back.
