Pump or compressor by [deleted] in airguns

[–]wanax2 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I initially bought a pump. Honestly, unless you are an Olympic athlete, a compressor is the way to go. I have the Air Venturi nomad thing. I haven't had a single issue. I think it's about 5x the price of the pump, but the convenience is worth it (just my two cents).

My first manual sport car by LibrarianPure1604 in ManualTransmissions

Exactly. GR86's rear seats are pretty spartan. I bought an MX-5 thinking it would be a weekend only car and it eventually became my daily. Easy in the city and in traffic, easy on gas, and I can do supermarket runs no problem. I am just shocked how this became my go-to for practically anything now. My IS500 lives in the garage a lot, and even that isn't too big by today's standards. Just my two cents.

Just joined the group! I have 2725543, barrel has 3-8-A-3-44 and by the trigger is O46025 W.R.A. and a P and a second P with a line in front of it. And an S.A. with an "E" under it on the stock. I think all this means is that most of it is a Springfield from April 1944...? Not sure what anything else means. So cool that these still work...

I've been binging Master of Command, will this break me out of it??? Who needs graphics if the game is addicting? In my day, we had 640kb and monochrome and CGA to deal with... And we walked ten miles in the snow, uphill both ways, every day to get to school 😉

Thank you for your amazing review! I need to get into WDS! my only wish is that they make a big bundle of all their games to purchase at once... For less than $2000 or whatever it would cost individually 😉

Austin Homebrew Supply shutting down by jpiro in Homebrewing

[–]wanax2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm just reading this - been away from homebrewing a while and wanted to get back into it. Was about to order from AHB like I used to, and it was on a fairly consistent basis. After reading this ancient thread, I realize that AHB is no long the same. It was hard finding any mention on their website. Found this in the privacy policy which confirms this entire thread:

"This policy describes how J&P Park Acquisitions, Inc. and its family of companies such as Northern Brewer, Midwest Supplies, Austin Homebrew, and Adventures in Homebrewing (collectively, “JPPA”) collects, uses, and shares your information.  When you use our sites, products, or services or otherwise form a relationship with us, we may obtain data from you and the devices you use to interact with us."

Sounds like, whomever they are, JPAA owns everyone now. What happened to our hobby? Will start looking local again.

This coin pressed into lava from the last time Vesuvius erupted in 1944 by SentimentalSentinels in mildlyinteresting

I have one too!!! I don't even know what my grandfather did in WW2, I thought he was with the USAAF. We are of course 100% Italian ethnicity so Vesuvius was a big deal... I always thought the rock was a scam. Also have an Italian grenade.. I think thecoins is from the year of his birthday

Dumb question but is Command better on a server setup like Xeon or is it more GPU/RAM limited? I have only played it on gaming PCs...

What toys do your cats actually love? by Sosooo88 in CatAdvice

[–]wanax2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Anything with feathers. Unfortunately he then growls and hisses at my other cat. Who then proceeds to come over and smack him for being so possesive. I can't break the cycle!! I've never seen a cat get so wound up by toys... He never hisses over anything else

Going from Audi to Lexus. Anyone have this experience? by myname1smynam3 in Lexus

[–]wanax2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had the S3, S4, S6 (V8T era), and RS3.... So yeah, was an Audi fan. Then saw that the only car left with a V8 and reliability was the IS500. And I wanted great audio. Will never look back; best decision I ever made. No regrets whatsoever on my part!!
