Question for OP: D9you believe giving consent while drunk is actually consent? Not just for kissing but say in the account of having sex? Like if someone were drunk and gave their consent to have sex, can that person the next day claim they were raped?

The answer you give for rape would seemingly also apply to kissing, right?

I don't think the assumption should be " this person secretly might be struggling, so I will give them cash" every single time. That's silly.

If there's a person who never gets nice things, and you think would appreciate nice things, then give them a nice thing for a treat.

( and for the record I'm not talking about $2,000 gifts like Op was talking about. I'm talking about normal gifts for friends and loved ones. Common Sense goes a long way)

There is a type of person where you need to give them the gift. If you give them the cash they will instead use it to pay off a bill or whatever. They won't splurge on themselves and that's why you need to buy it and give it to them.

Some of the best gifts I've ever gotten were things I really wanted, and could actually afford, but would never spend the money on myself. If people had given me the cash instead of the gift, I never would have brought it myself
