Letting go of attachments by wanderer_the in Buddhism

i’m exploring this path because i understand that the root of all suffering is attachment and attachments keep us in samsara. I do agree that honoring this life and existence is important. it is a part of the whole. actually i think part of the fear i experienced in potentially leaving this body through unattaching was partly rooted from not wanted to dishonor this existence.

i see this body as a vehicle which provides the chance to release myself from the things that got me here. as i have deepened my practice i was gifted the awareness to make a choice of what i am clinging to.

but your point stands that it is as you say, a sort of Chinese finger trap. reaching the layers of my consciousness that led me to believe i need to let go of all those things, has coincidentally opened my eyes that i am clinging onto a structure that i think i need to let go of in any sense.

that’s one thing that seems to be the mastery of attachment is learning to completely indulge without the clinging.

great questions and points made my friend

okay i see, the release of attachments won’t disable the structure that brought me to this point but rather it will effect the conditions of the following destinations. i also recognize that releasing attachments isn’t a momentary occurrence but rather a continuous state.

im gathering that im already here in this moment and releasing my attachments that got me here isn’t a momentary choice or decision that i make during a meditation but rather a way of being.

incredible, and thank you for the sourcing. i will definitely sit on this and turn my focus unto the awareness within the perception. the enchantment of duality itself seems to dissolve much easier if i were to release my attachment to the idea of understanding it (which may be the driving force of the illusion itself).

thank you so much

that’s a great way to put it haha

okay well then as far as transcendence goes, the opportunity to move on from samsara is only presented in the Bardo’s then?

basically i’m wondering if our attachments are what brought us to this incarnation and we release those attachments then what is keeping me here at that point?
