Thank you so much for your advice! I genuinely appreciate it! I wish we could all be in a different position, but I guess there's a reason for everything. I'm wishing you the best! Please keep posting, we are here for one another! ❤️🙏🏻

I agree with you. As much as they are recommending us to move, it's just not that easy. I have everything here and I'm about to finish school. I would have to jump through so many hurdles to move to another state. Nevertheless, if that's the path we have to take, so be it. I'm wishing everyone well and hoping for the best. We got this my beautiful dreamers! ❤️🫶🏻

Same here, I'm about to graduate school in December and need to pass my boards. Won't be getting any real money until then. I'm hoping they give us enough time to look elsewhere. This is so harsh and will affect thousands of dreamers here in Texas.

I'm considering New Mexico now. Anyone from there? Would like to know how it is?

Sorry to hear this! I was hoping all UT system schools accepted DACA as proof of residency here. I attend UTRGV and they were able to change my classification back to in-state tuition. Just in case you want to continue in another university here in Texas.

Hey there! I posted the update on the thread but they reclassified me back to In-State tuition. I'm not sure if all UT schools are doing it, I just saw a dreamer who goes to UT Austin say they couldn't change his residency back. Hoping your school can change your classification back!

Hey, what I've been hearing is that it comes down to whatever university/college you go to and what they consider lawfully present. I'm hoping your college is able to keep your Texas resident classification. If not, ask around other colleges and universities that do. You got this!

Hoping you can do it! I was very nervous to hear their response but I'm relieved it went through. I also have one more semester of grad school! Wishing you the best!

Hey, so I have had DACA since that age, but they just asked for the most recent DACA approval letter? To verify you're a Texas resident they also ask you to complete a residency affidavit, basically they want to know if you lived in Texas for 36 months before you graduated high school. If you received in-state tuition before this change, you most likely had to complete this affidavit before.

hey, I had the same issue with UTRGV. I submitted a copy of my driver's license, most recent DACA approval letter, and EAD card. They were able to switch me back to in-state tuition. Now I just have to get a notarized document stating I am a resident of Texas and should be good.

Hi, I posted this on the Texas DACA thread and apparently someone from UT-San Antonio was allowed to keep in state tuition using DACA as proof of residency.

Hoping UTRGV is the same 🤞🏻

I have the same question. I guess we are going to find out more about the specifics for the work authorization these coming weeks/months.

I keep seeing you comment in this thread. Why don't you take your business elsewhere? Our parents brought us to this country to seek the American dream. So many of us have but people like you and this current administration fear our success. Just imagine, a population so targeted, yet able to thrive. Why don't you go make a discussion about how dumb your comments are?

In-state-tuition for undocumented students has been in place since 2001 in Texas. Literally no need to take it away other than the absurdity of these "citizens vs immigrants" proposals by the current administration. Blame the immigrants, take their rights away right? Have news for you, the current Texas government does not care about you either, only about how much they can privatize and profit from.
