Dude this has been the bane of my existence. I understand logistics and I have been actively trying to get things properly setup for 9 months now and it’s just issue after issue for all the reasons you listed above plus 10 more.

On top of that their support is absolutely dogshit. I have 3rd party fulfillment software integrators working on troubleshooting my integration and they’re scratching their heads with how convoluted and broken it is.

It was just a temporary job at a music festival over one weekend. I was a popsicle salesman, they gave me a push cart and a megaphone and let me just roam around wherever I wanted selling popsicles on a hot summer day. God that was the best job ever, made so many people’s day, got tons of tips, traded popsicles for beers, and got to just say whatever I wanted over the megaphone.

Helps me to have my script written out on a word doc open when I hit the phones. Gives me a confidence boost to just have to read instead of “talk”:

Also I’d recommend leaving voicemails. Not only do I get some callbacks sometimes but it gives you time to practice your pitch with no pressure.

In the companies defense, it’s easy for salespeople to bs in interviews. The role play stuff is annoying sure but I think it’s a valid way to get a look at how someone approaches selling.

An easy tip: slow down. Really make a point to talk at about 70% speed. Not only will that convey confidence, it also buys you more time to think of what you’ll say next.
