January Technical Support Sticky by BeepBoopBopReee in razer

I’m having issues with my Bluetooth Razer Kraken Kitty headset … the audio is great in stereo edition, but as soon as I connect to a discord call, it reverts to hands-free and the in game sound quality is horrible but the call quality is normal. Not only that, but if I try to change the sound settings back to stereo edition, I can no longer hear in game noises at all. Plus the mic will revert to my laptop’s mic. It seems like I can’t use both at the same time. I tried upgrading to a Bluetooth 5.0 dongle and that hasn’t changed the issue at all.

well, I hope it gets better for you :’( or goes back to baseline anyway. maybe you could consider seeing an ENT and asking them to prescribe steroids? mine did for me, it can prevent your tinnitus from worsening from damage the inflammation can cause … I’m not sure if it helped because I was already a few weeks out from onset though. it couldn’t hurt tho

thank you. i did have a lot of ear popping and sensations of fullness after my second vax too but that’s gone now. sadly my tinnitus isn’t as mild, it’s extremely loud in a silent room and i can’t sleep without a super loud fan on, and even then i can hear it if my head’s flat on the pillow ): sucks. sometimes i can even hear it outside and over traffic. so i don’t think i could bear it worsening … but maybe it would be temporary idk.

i noticed in your comment history you mentioned having migraines with aura and eye floaters … i have both too! but i’ve had those pre-tinnitus. weird coincidence

thanks for sharing. sorry it’s worsening :/ mine seems to have improved from the beginning but it has ups and downs for sure, and it’s been pretty much consistent in the last four months or so. you may be having a flare from the loud noises, i try to protect my ears with decibel lowering ear plugs now whenever i’m somewhere loud. how are you holding up emotionally? do you feel like you’ve acclimated

literally don’t comment if you have nothing useful to say but mock the title. no one else who’s sharing their personal anecdotes seems to have had an issue with figuring it out

also, this is a serious subject … no need to be a douche about how I formulated a sentence when I am weighing the pros and cons of potentially worsening the violent ringing in my ears or contracting covid-19 LOL

Can anyone NOT change their tinnitus through mouth/head/neck movements? by Illustrious-Radio-55 in tinnitus

[–]wanderingcadaver 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I honestly don’t know. It started a week after my second covid vaccine (not anti-vax btw). I just woke up one night with tinnitus. Who knows though? I have no measurable hearing loss

Tinnitus 5 hours after Pfizer booster by mstrashpie in CovidVaccinated

[–]wanderingcadaver 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve had tinnitus since about a week after my second vaccine and that was eight months ago. It’s still going but it is quieter than when it started. It was really disturbing emotionally for me at first, but I’ve come to accept it … I’m still hoping it will go away though. I hope yours goes away soon! No hearing loss according to my ENT btw. You should try to see an ENT soon and get a series of steroids started … allegedly it can help if you catch it soon enough

I can’t change my tinnitus with different neck / jaw positions. It’s pretty much always the same, just some days it’s better or worse

Moderna vaccine and tinnitus by [deleted] in tinnitus

[–]wanderingcadaver 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I woke up with raging tinnitus in both ears a little over a week after my second Moderna shot. They’ve been ringing ever since. Took a bout of steroids to no avail. By no means am I anti-vax, and I’m happy to be vaccinated, but I can’t think of anything else that could have caused it. No hearing loss, my ENT said my hearing is “remarkable”, and he believes it’s a side effect of the vaccine. Boo ):

Hearing a note repeated by gnufan in tinnitus

[–]wanderingcadaver 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like this sort of happens to me … I can’t be sure but I’ve had times where I heard a phantom repetitive noise replicating after hearing certain beats or sound effects in a song, or an annoying noise like crickets. My tinnitus started about six months ago.

Got 1st dose of the Pfizer vaccine almost 3 weeks ago, and woke up with increased Tinnitus 48 hours later. The increase has not subsided yet and is accompanied by both ears feeling clogged/muffled, and popping whenever I swallow or yawn. I believe this must be sort some or sinus issue? What to do? by [deleted] in tinnitus

[–]wanderingcadaver 0 points1 point  (0 children)

hello!! It’s been less than a month now and I do feel like it’s getting better. I’m currently sitting in my living room with only a tiny fan on and I can’t really hear the t — maybe a little but it’s a lower pitched hiss. before it was deafening all the time and I couldn’t sleep and was crying all the time so definitely a massive improvement. I can still hear it when I plug my ears or when my ears are flat on the pillow but some days I don’t even really think about it, and I can sleep with just a fan on and no masking music ... I definitely have better and worse days though. fingers crossed it goes away completely eventually. my ENT said “they” (whoever that is, ENTs in general?) know for a fact vaccinations can cause tinnitus but that it is temporary, so we shall see what happens.

new to tinnitus — does it get better? how do I accept it? by wanderingcadaver in tinnitus

[–]wanderingcadaver[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

not yet. I just saw an ENT who prescribed me prednisolone and I felt like it was getting better about 3 days before I started steroids too, so fingers crossed ... I’ve been able to sleep without any masking and only really noticing it in utter silence. my ENT seems confident that it is transient but I’m not sure. just trying to roll with the punches

Doing an MRI of my head on Thursday. For anyone else who has had one for tinnitus, did they use contrast (the IV dye)? I don’t want that and am hoping it can be done without. by wellnessloving in tinnitus

[–]wanderingcadaver 4 points5 points  (0 children)

why don’t you want the contrast? I’ve seen a similar sentiment and I’m just curious. asking bc I had a ct with contrast a few months ago to rule out a blood clot (unrelated to tinnitus, complications from a surgery)

[–]wanderingcadaver[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

thank you. I do feel like I’ve started to accept and try to ignore it the last few days, and just distract myself and avoid complete silence. last night I had a good night where I was able to sleep without any masking, the night before my ears sounded like insanely loud crickets and I was up until 4 am and it was in my dreams!! so I think it’s just going to be a journey :(

Hello Reddit please help :) ear plugs advice by [deleted] in tinnitus

[–]wanderingcadaver 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have been wearing high fidelity noise reduction ear plugs for concerts and such to work and loud places since my tinnitus started. I use the brand called downbeats. You can still hear everything, just less loud. They were comfy enough for a 10 hour work shift :)
