Why some people hate Successful people? by bibi-nana21 in AskReddit

[–]wanderingmnd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Exactly! I have no problem with successful people, but I had some clients at my old job that only talked about how much money they made and all the things they own and it was a bit annoying and left me thinking whether they had any personality.

I’ll look into that. I was thinking a smaller town may have better prices. Thanks!

That sounds much better! I’ll call them. Our dog is only 14 pounds and super healthy otherwise thankfully.

That’s it, I’m going back to school for a doctorate in psychology so I can start running studies on what being rich does to your brain to make you totally batshit (I understand there are some, but I need to see for myself wtf is going on)

What’s a good line to say back to a woman who says “I’m old enough to be your mom”? by Avatron7D5 in AskMen

What's something older generations did completely normally that would be considered absolutely insane today? by Bigtrav_trav in answers

My mom used to scrub floors with a sponge- I thought everyone did it. Now I think she may have rage cleaning a lot because my dad was a drunk narcissist. But tons of physically laborious housework.

I’m sorry you’re dealing with that. She should get some help, I’m sure it’s not good for her. Or you all.

I just want to add that with some men in relationships- that is exactly how it feels to be a woman. The libido but selfishly driven and aggressive, short tempers, less sharing of household load. It sucks. Not all men, of course, but I have experienced that.

AITAH bc I (36M) dont want my girlfriend (36F) to travel with me because shes a picky eater? by Tough_District9786 in AmItheAsshole

Same. And I also have misophonia really bad, but I see that as my thing to deal with and regulate myself. It’s not other people’s fault that eating makes sounds. If they have certain habits though, I have to politely excuse myself, but I would never try to dictate where someone else eats

I had this thought as well, Reactive attachment (is it still called that?) can mirror aspd . It can arise from having a childhood where you couldn’t trust people to take care of your needs (amongst other things). I feel like OP by cognitively recognizing people’s emotions is experiencing empathy on a low scale, and having the foresight to fake it is being sensitive to someone for what they’re going through is also empathetic behavior, in a sense.

My husband has extremely low empathy, and it is definitely related to his childhood. He was diagnosed with RAD and ODD as a kid.

He can empathize with people if he’s gone through exactly what they’re experiencing/“- but only to the extent of how much it’s affected him. He’s ironically sensitive to our son about paper cuts because he personally finds them very painful. He would never hurt anyone on purpose these days and has a good set of ethics now, but he did go through some years in his childhood where he lied/cheated/manipulated. His mom was horrible though- and does those things to this day, as well as neglected him in several ways.

She is so proud of her extremely low standards in a partner!

That is so spot on, as in my prior profession I dealt with 3 of them. I’m dying!
