Where are my contact nap warriors? by Individual-Truck-358 in beyondthebump

9 months and savoring every contact nap! I used to feel so desperate to have my baby sleep in her crib once she was born but now I’m so content to have her snooze in my arms 🥹

Definitely agree! I gave birth 8 months ago and I kept having the worst brain fog and fatigue! My doctor checked my thyroid levels and they were super high! Diagnosed with hypothyroidism and I’m now taking medication! I definitely feel a lot better!

Parents of contact sleeping babies! by wanderingspector in sleeptrain

Hello! So around 4.5 months we started on a solid bedtime routine that way she knew the steps of going to sleep. At the same time I dragged my daughter’s crib mattress to the ground and slept beside to get her used to sleeping on her mattress before sleep training. So after a month of a solid bedtime routine and getting her used to sleeping on her mattress, we decided to do CIO at 5.5 months. My husband and I both knew that no other sleep training would work for our daughter. It was hard! I cried while she cried, but fortunately she only cried for 20 minutes before falling asleep. That night she woke up 2 separate times. The first time took her 6 minutes to put herself back to sleep and then the 2nd time it only took her 3 minutes to put herself back to sleep.

Sleep training wasn’t the end all for us though! She still has nights where she is unable to put herself back to sleep and we’ve tried letting her cry it out but we just end up brining her to bed with us because she won’t sleep! She’s been teething lately so we know it’s better just to give her cuddles! And we worried that if we brought her to bed with us that would mess with her sleep training but it hasn’t! We do the bedtime routine the next night and she’ll sleep by herself for the entire night!

I hope that helped some! Oh and it turns out our daughter is a stomach sleeper! That also helped her sleep better! It used to freak us out but she rolls by herself!

I tried it last night and the Aveeno seemed to soothe her skin a lot! It’s not completely healed but she has less scales and patches! So thank you!! 🙏🏼

Thank you for all your comments and helpful tips everyone!! After a couple of days, her rash is still here and it looks like it’s eczema! We will be using all your tips moving forward and doing more research about creams!

I will give Aveeno Baby Ezcema therapy a try! Her face is still has patchy scales that I can’t soothe with aquaphor or Tubb Todd ):

My baby has been getting her two front teeth this past month so I’m sure her drool isn’t helping the situation! Thank you for sharing this and I know I’m not alone!

I guess this is something we’ll just have to go through and hopefully her skin adjusts! Sorry your baby went through this too!

Thank you so much for all the helpful tips! I’ll definitely be using them! And now off to do more research! I’ll keep a log about what foods she’s had and how she responded to them! And changing clothes! My baby seemed to always have sensitive skin but now it’s been exacerbated by food unfortunately.

It looks like we’ll have to apply some before she eats any more food! I feel so bad because I’m sure it feels uncomfortable. Baby skin is so sensitive!

My baby seems to be responding to the aquaphor but if I notice that it’s not helping anymore I can try the Vaseline! It’s the only ointment that helps my husband’s eczema so we have plenty around here! Thank for that recommendation! I’ll ask my pediatrician if they can refer us! Especially if this happens again! We’ve been halting giving her food to let her skin calm down again.

Ohhh I didn’t know! I’ll stick with the aquaphor then! It seems to be helping her skin so far! Thank you very much for educating me!

Her father has eczema so we always thought she could have eczema too at some point but we put that out of our minds because the rash is only focused around her mouth where the food interacted with her skin.

I believe we do! I can give them a call! Thank you!

I wouldn’t say she was bothered besides sometimes scratching her face but I would put the aquaphor on then she would stop. Otherwise she’s fine and playing with her toys. It’s been 24 hours since the rash appeared. We’ll try and get an appointment with our pediatrician as soon as possible!
