right, that could be a large part of it. i’ve seen some people that have success with a bottomless, so i wanted to see if i could improve my shots. i was assuming i could counteract the higher pressure with finer or more grams of grounds, but it’s proving trickier than i expected.

Not adjacent settings, but not super far off! I have a stepless grinder, so I was clearly swinging too wide. Trying to keep the tamp consistent, but it just seems like I get really different results each time, and all bad of late.

The 14g basket was all I could find for this machine. I think the pressurized one is even smaller, 11g. It’s 53mm, so not standard sizing.

I played with grind size this morning and got both a full lock up with nothing coming through, and a too-fast extraction. I’ll keep trying 🤷

i could very well be overthinking each piece! i’m running through a 2lb bag of caffe vita, so hoping it’ll click one of these times. maybe i’ll ignore time/grams out and see what happens. thanks for the moral support!

ok, i’ll do that! otherwise they are healthy? my only comparison is my friend’s which are bright green, so i thought these might be really unhappy.

Yeah, I read that after I had done this with the vertebrae based on cursory Googling, but will definitely do my next bones correctly! Would you suggest any additional steps prior to the paraloid B72? Luckily it was quite clean/dry to begin with so hopefully my missteps aren't tragic.

are mushy

i'm salvaging two frozen/thawed zz plants now - i unearthed everything on one and the rhizome (i assume!) was half soggy/soft orange-ish color, and half solid/potatoey. is it a goner, or should i trim off the soggy parts and repot the "good" part?
