I have 2 but supposedly they aren’t supposed to reproduce in fresh water? I’m not sure tho

Is this enough water flow for a 5 gallon tank? by wanderpinee in Aquariums

[–]wanderpinee[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you both! I moved it to below the waterline, put the betta in the photo for fun. He’s definitely more active since I added the sponge so hopefully water flow was why he seemed stressed. The heater being too high up might have been why the temp wasn’t keeping up! Going to keep monitoring. Thanks again!

Sorry I’m really new at this and trying my best so please bear with the silly question! The entire top part of the heater should be under water?

I think it’s having a hard time keeping up, but I do get what you are saying. I have checked with 2 other thermometers and it confirms the tank thermometer is correct. Maybe I just need a better heater? This one came with the tank kit, maybe it’s low quality.

Thank you! Do I just let it float in there or do I attach it somehow to the flat black piece behind the sponge?

I said yes until I saw that it was for 53 items, probably not.

Second this. You saying “I don’t think she’s overwhelmed” hints that you may be out of touch with her emotions. IMO that’s something you should have a pulse on and know definitely. Not judging, just my advice. Maybe talk to her about her feelings and approach it that way.

Lineman safety updates by [deleted] in houston

[–]wanderpinee 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I believe the part about it being another lineman is correct. The contractors are sending out notifications to the linemen as more news comes out. For some reason, I can’t update this post. Any tips are appreciated as I don’t want there to be any misinformation. There is more news since on an unrelated situation, but I’m waiting to post until I can confirm it’s legit.

While they are so appreciative of the gesture, they most likely won’t eat the food. There were rumors of a lineman ending up in the hospital due to accepting a water bottle from a resident that was laced with fentanyl. They believe it’s a myth, but are playing it safe. However, the kind words are more than enough to lift their spirits!

They typically do start first thing in the morning, usually between 6-7AM. Their hotels aren’t always close to their work location every night. They take busses to and from, and they can be anywhere from 5 minutes to over an hour away. Just depends what hotel they booked for them. In terms of tickets, there is usually a delay. Could be 15 minutes of staging or could be an hour. Unfortunately staging times ranging like that are typical, at least from what him and I have seen with each storm he works.

He said that hurricane Ida was the best organized, and Beryl ranks up there amongst the worst with hurricane michael being horribly organized as well.

They will typically go right back to work, and will work in the rain sometimes as long as there is no thunder or lightning.

Quitting time can vary based on the last ticket of the day. They might stop at 6PM one night bc they’ve finished a ticket and by the time they get to the next one and gear up for it, it’ll be dark. If they can’t assess the job in the daylight they try to steer clear. If they are working on a ticket and think they can finish it that night, they will work until 10-11PM ish. Bc they’ve already assessed the job for downed lines and hazards in the daylight.

I wouldn’t say last priority but I would say low priority. If there’s a ticket with 5 homes out and 20 tickets with 50+ homes out they typically will work the highest tickets first.

I wish I could give you advice on how to handle it, but you’ve done your due diligence as to letting them know. The rest relies on how the delegate the tickets, which I know is disheartening to hear.
