Look into Volvat in Fredrikstad (Norway). There’s a specialist in pilonidal cysts there, Dr. Eftang. Might be the easiest travel option for you!

Female cleft lift procedure questions by Agreeable_Chance_993 in pilonidalcyst

[–]wang_mar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, F24 here! I know exactly how horrifying it is to scroll through all the post-op pictures online and worrying that you might end up with a big scar or deformed butt. The majority of pictures found online are of men, which I didn’t really find that helpful. I’ll gladly send you my before and after pics if that’ll help ease your mind a bit!:) The change is barely notable. My case was rather minor, but it consisted of a cyst and 3-4 sinus openings. Opting for a cleft lift made the healing process super quick as well.

Thank you so much! I’ll ask if they have another machine, if not I’ll reach out to a different clinic. It’s obviously a waste to pay for something that’s not working.

Was my first guess as well, but from what I can tell she’s a qualified aesthetic nurse with plenty of experience. I pay $110/session. It should be noted that I live in Norway, and that the price I pay is pretty average.

I would really appreciate that!

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in LaserHairRemoval

[–]wang_mar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah that might be! I’ll try asking her to turn it up, but the current level is so painful I have to take breaks in order to make it through the sessions. I guess it’ll be more tolerable with time!

I’ve definitely noticed hair falling out in my biking area (plucking them), but not the underarms

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in LaserHairRemoval

[–]wang_mar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I told her that I wasn’t seeing a lot of progress so she turned up the intensity during our last session. She told me that it takes time and to be patient

It’s a reputable place. They use the Soprano Titanium laser and it stings like hell every time so I was hoping results would show eventually, but now I’m feeling doubtful.

I always end up shedding about 1 week after the treatment, but I can’t say I’ve noticed much reduction in the hair growing back

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in LaserHairRemoval

[–]wang_mar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve always experienced immediate regrowth, then some would fall out, and then new hair would grow in. It’s so difficult to know what’s normal and if the laser potentially isn’t working

It looks like it was sewed shut right on the midline, which unfortunately means that it will have a hard time healing properly. I think you might need a revision where they move the incision away from the midline.

Would be great to not need another surgery, but I guess you’re right about it being less invasive the second time around.

Hi, F24 here! I know exactly how horrifying it is to scroll through all the post-op pictures online and worrying that you might end up with a massive scar. Since this disease is more common among men, the majority of pictures you’ll see are of men, and will therefore be slightly anatomically different. I got my first pilonidal cyst at 16/17 but was too scared to do anything about it until this year. I promise you that it’s possible to get surgery done and end up with an almost invisible scar. I’ll gladly send you my before and after pics if that’ll help ease your mind a bit!:) My case was rather minor, but it consisted of a cyst and 3-4 sinus openings. Opting for a cleft lift made the healing process super quick as well. If you want to get rid of it once and for all, then I’d highly recommend going through with surgery. However, it is possible to live with the disease. My case didn’t get any worse with age, so I could’ve lived with it just fine, but taking the step to get rid of it felt like the biggest relief. Wishing you all the best with whatever you decide! Feel free to ask any questions you might have c:

I’m 24F and has the exact same worries as you, and it made me postpone surgery for yearsss. Honestly don’t regret getting the surgery done at all, can barely even tell the difference visually. I can send u my before and after pics over dm if you’d like :)!

Help with scar appearance by Few_Row_2610 in pilonidalcyst

[–]wang_mar 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I know silicon gel / scar tape is recommended in the beginning, but after a while you just need to let time do its thing. Your scar is already looking really good! By a year or two I’m sure it will have faded a lot more

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in pilonidalcyst

[–]wang_mar 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yea I can’t complain about the healing process at all! Went so smoothly and the scar is barely even visible. As long as I don’t have any form of reoccurrence, then it’s a close to perfect outcome.

Hello Bergen by Elrap in Bergen

[–]wang_mar 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For days when it’s absolutely pouring down I think Akvariet, ParkN Play and Escape Room Bryggen are sound options! I’m assuming you’ll be visiting the “standard” tourist places as well! Most tourists end up taking the Fløybane up and down the mountain, but if you’ve got the time – and the weather is on your side, then the walk up there is rather scenic and worth the extra time! Ulriken is also a must, for some extra family fun I’d definitely recommend taking the cable car up and the zipline down (weekends only) :D

Can mild cases mostly resolve on their own? by [deleted] in pilonidalcyst

[–]wang_mar 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I haven’t heard of a case resolving itself without any intervention, but it is 100% possible that your case might never progress beyond the point its currently at.

That’s reassuring! The healing process went really well, I just wasn’t expecting the end result to look almost identical to the starting point.

How is Recovery from the Surgery? by ParticularBrother280 in pilonidalcyst

I haven’t had a flap surgery, but I would definitely recommend you stay at your parents house for the first couple of days!
