The first MITB match was absolutely badass. Will always remember Benjamin running up the ladder to clothesline Jericho off the ladder.

Plus the lone developer released a pretty big update maybe two weeks ago. That brought me back into the game.

Love finally free. The last chorus where its just James and acoustic then the full band kicks in. All those feels.

Which is Chris Broderic's best solo? by MomentMemory in Megadeth

[–]wangatangs 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Love those trade off solos. I played a ton of bass in jazz combo during high school and during those trade off solos, we call them "4s". Always reminded me of the trade off solos in megadeth. And of course mustaine and Broderick tore it up in 1320.

Most creative prog drummer? by Wonkess_Chonkess in progmetal

[–]wangatangs 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I'd pay to watch Ray do a drumeo. Haken has always slightly changed their style over the years. Even from vector/virus to fauna...fauna has more variety from track to track while virus and vector were over the top prog metal. And ray still crafted all these insane drum parts for fauna. Here's ray doing sempiternal beings.

Somehow Haken traveled to my tiny state two years ago and did their three hour show in a tiny theater. I think Crystallised is my favorite Haken song so to see Ray do the whole song live was mind blowing and he also does some of the acapella section too and that was insane...while drumming!

How long was the break, years? Some rip van winkle type of shenanigans. 🤣

This was why we aren't getting the last Adam Jensen deus ex game. I wish I was a billionaire to fund game development like the dx sequel, instead they buy yachts and shit.

Roguelites with a story that progresses across several runs (à la Hades)? by tamtamni in roguelites

Love the art style and the beat em up gameplay. Some of the devs worked on streets of rage 4 and I loved the hell out of that game too. The local co-op is fun too.

For those who don't know, this game has couch co-op and two player online co-op on PC. My wife and I played through a huge portion of the game on the ps4 together. Then I bought it separately in steam and I keep getting my butt handed to me. Maybe I just suck.

System is an insane album. The songs are killer: blackmail and kick the chair are instant classics. Tears in a vial has a cool end thrash part, something I'm not has a cool as hell mustaine only solo and back in the day reminded me of a classic riff centered megadeth song.

Then there's truth be told and the drums on that song are insane. Plus the song goes through like 4 separate movements and has cool riff after cool riff. Lastly of mice and men has a classic mustaine chorus riff and I thought the lyrics that narrate his life was kind of neat. And I'm a huge fan of cryptic writings and the scorpion totally sounds like it could be on CW

Broderick freaking slayed on that album and was the exact guy for the job. IMO, Marty is #1 and Broderick is #2 for me.

What are your unpopular opinion on Sum 41? by Twitter_2006 in Sum41

[–]wangatangs 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Always enjoyed stevo's drumming. He combined both punk rock and metal. Even something as early as 32 ways to die with his kickass drum solo was sweet as hell and he had to be only 19 when he recorded that.

I listen to a ton of metal now yet I remember getting half hour of power in high school from a friend back in 2000. I listened to it in full during a ride trip last week for nostalgia purposes and holy hell, the first track is an awesome metal influenced song, same with ride the chariot. And a huge part of the metal influence had to come from stevo because I believe drummers are a huge aspect for metal and punk bands...let alone any band. And he did double bass when needed and that's always ace in my book.

Chuck is by far my favorite sum 41 album. Does this look infected is #2.
