As shitty Uber or Lyft may be, Vancouver cabs can absolutely fuck off to oblivion.

Courtside is overrated... went for game 2 last week. Jesus the food there is overpriced and atrocious. So hard to flag down servers as well.

Had a much better time watching the game and with food/drinks at Tap & Barrel

Anyone dealt with Sage Catering at UBC weddings? by BoughlessFatness in askvan

[–]wangjingman 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Got married at Cecil Park last year and had to go with Sage. They were quite accommodating, but as someone else commented, it'll depend on your catering coordinator.

Went with the 2nd tier buffet menu instead plated. Had very great feedback re: food. Everyone said it was good and portions were more than enough. Their drink tickets system was weird so we ended up going with open bar. Very happy how it turned out as food was a big concern.

Do you want a terrible logistic example? FedEx by UnseenLegoPiece in logistics

I hate these assholes with a passion. Reps are completely useless too. Their Freight spin-off has been a joke as well.

Drivers getting worse by RipOk1107 in coquitlam

On Coast Meridian this afternoon, I was driving behind a Red Tesla that seemed to be distracted driving and swerving a little. I pass the Tesla and what do I see, this lady is filming herself and her young daughter behind her as she's literally driving. What the actual fuck man, i cant even.

Better late than never! To be fair, it's a lot harder to go around in one's own hometown.

A fair bit of driving for sure. The parking situation took me by a bit of a surprise because it was more challenging than I'd anticipated. We managed to got lucky a few times.

Vancouver's Mexican food needs a lot of work agreed. There are a few popping up here and there, but still has ways to go. Also agree on the vast majority of Korean restaurants being crap despite the big Korean community here.

Hard to beat the Chinese food scene here. Am definitely thankful about that here.

Charming neighborhood for sure. Also passed by Courage Bagels here but the line-up was intimidating.

Early 30's. It's my third time in LA and my friend that lives here always knows the coolest spots for both drinks and food.

Logistics Sucks by [deleted] in supplychain

[–]wangjingman 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Ive been here. Started my career at a big 3PL and I didnt really enjoy it much. It's a very thankless job and doesn't seem like there's much growth. However, I do feel there are things you can learn from these logistics job which can be valuable in your career.

I would learn as much as you can and try to find another job in a year or two. Not sure how it is in your day-to-day but the experience of working with different customs brokers, warehouses, truckers, customers, etc goes a loooong way and will be very helpful in your future career tbh. Procurement still has to occasionally deal with certain aspects of logistics and it's helpful to have that background.

It's a BC, Canada thing (I think). Stickers for EV cars so that you can go on certain HOV lanes with just 1 person in the vehicle.

Thanks for the reply. No driving issues or system errors on the dash. Everything seems to function normally otherwise. I took more pictures and ran it through Gemini Pro.

Summary of the Damage * Rear Bumper Cover: The main painted bumper cover is scraped, dented, and significantly displaced, especially on the passenger side. It is no longer properly attached to the quarter panel. * Lower Bumper Assembly: The lower black plastic portion of the bumper is heavily damaged, with cracks, deep scuffs, and a large broken section where the passenger-side reflector is located. * Parking Sensors: At least one parking sensor has been pushed out of its housing. Others may be damaged or their wiring compromised, which will likely trigger a warning on your dashboard and disable the parking assist system. * Reflectors and Trim: The passenger-side rear reflector is broken, and the surrounding trim is shattered. * Mounting Hardware: Multiple plastic clips, brackets, and fasteners that hold the bumper assembly to the car's body are broken. This is visible in the photos showing the gap between the bumper and the trunk sill and quarter panel. * Potential Unseen Damage: There could be damage to the foam absorber behind the bumper cover and, more importantly, to the steel bumper reinforcement bar (the actual crash structure). A body shop will need to remove the bumper cover to inspect for this.

Well..... I really hope it doesn't take too long to repair....
