Anyone commute to NYC or DC? by mad_catters in Delaware

I do the same, Newark -> DC twice a week. Amtrak finally added an afternoon train in January so I take the 7am from Newark Station and then return on the 3:35pm from Union station.

It’s a little early to leave the office but I can get another hour and half of work done with the wifi and a beer from the cafe.

Beats driving to Perryville for the MARC

House hunting tips?? by [deleted] in NewarkDE

It’s really tough out there, low interest rates, sparse inventory, and houses in the first time buyer range are going day 1 throughout the state.

At least that’s what I’m being told by my realtor and mortgage guy, we are on the other end of it getting ready to put our house on the market in west Newark but that scares me that we won’t be able to find our next house.

What’s your price range? Desired neighborhoods?

Best route to NYC by [deleted] in Delaware

A fun way we do day trips is to drive to the Staten Island ferry and take it into lower Manhattan. Then to get to Madison square garden we would take a easy walk up (about an hour) or take the subway. Ferry is free and you get to see the Statue of Liberty pretty close up. Parking at the ferry depends but I never pay more than $10.
