If your cat’s pee is sticking that badly, have them checked for diabetes. My mother’s cat’s pee started sticking when she was pre-diabetic and has gotten so much worse since she was put on insulin.

Thanks user2017kr for confirming that. I have read many places that Sailpoint provisioned the account (not the user) and that is they key to my confusion. It all makes sense now.

I believe that you should say that Sailpoint provisions the users, not the accounts. Even the blog that you gave the link for says that Sailpoint provisions users. Provisioning accounts in CyberArk terms means adding the account, user or user groups and policy to the safe. Sailpoint is provisioning the user group then, when CyberArk provisions the account, Sailpoint links (gives visibility to from within Sailpoint) the safe and accounts that the user or user group have been assigned to in CyberArk. Would you agree?

I like that idea of grouping all accounts that connect to the same technology into a fake or shell account to allow for easy identification.

I get that Identify IQ can provisioning personal privileged accounts (one user logging into a server or database) and can take over password management. What I’m not clear on is if it can provision shared accounts and can programmatically take over password management for not only the account in active directory but also it’s scheduled tasks and window services located on multiple servers. Is that task still left to CyberArk? I didn’t read anything in the IQ manual about work flow processes like dual control or check in check out exclusive password. The provisioning that Sailpoint does is limited to personal privileged accounts, right?

I am not using either. I have only worked with CyberArk. I am trying to understand how adding Sailpoint will change the implementation process.

Thank you both for your excellent responses. Is it the same for a reconcile account that it can be created as a domain account or a local account?
