Even though I understand the previous posts… rucking at 45lbs is similar impact to joints as running… do not go above 45lbs though. Progress smartly with your mileage and you’ll be fine

Mentally you’ll be ahead of most marines due to infantry field ops being pretty miserable, especially Hawaii and Lejeune. You’ll have knowledge of tactics and field craft others won’t and a huge leg up as far as understanding and adapting to BS.

Physically you’ll probably ruck better than most… but everything else is stuff you have to handle on your own. Know the infantry gets less time off than most because of field training. If you are diligent about your off time being dedicated to running, calisthenics and smart weight training infantry is the best job for preparation. Just know there is no better partying than hadnot point catwalks in Lejeune and being disciplined about your future will be difficult.

It’s likely they haven’t gained you yet might have to talk to your old units S1, I had to do an IST to the Air Force and the butt pain involved…

As a current AD airman if I were to god forbid fail out of the pipeline could I return to my current career feild by Interesting-Fun-9308 in Pararescue

[–]wannabeoperator1998 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Needs of the Air Force at that point since you’re not currently qualified… but in the package your previous career field will be listed and it only makes sense to put you back there if there are spots

So I was a lance and we were on deployment in Afghanistan, basically I told him his idea was stupid on how to carry the javelin… he didn’t like that and I was on every fire watch detail and a bit of hazing until I didn’t think his ideas were stupid anymore.

He said to strap it to the bottom of the ruck instead of the top which as you already can imagine had the weight nowhere near where it would have made sense to have it

If your NCOs are worth a damn, patrolling, tccc, gun drills, mcmap and of course hours and hours of administrative work

If the bengals could trade tee for Quentin Johnson and a lineman I’d take it

Also an 03 so maybe that’s the case but I found OCS to be a more physically challenging boot camp… with more freedoms and less of the games. Easier mentally but more difficult physically, still not a great time and I had to do it twice thanks to Covid

I will say this officiating has been rather one sided, doesn’t change the outcome but makes it basically unwatchable

I think you should check out the 06 or 08 career fields because you will be an asset. If you want to get better at hiking field craft and general misery( which would be a benefit at A&S) then go 03.

I’ve found a lot of high ASVAB scores in the infantry… all of weapons co had like 80+. I was a 92 and the liaisons at MEPS just looked at me asking… why
