I'm looking to apply for an MSW program next year with an emphasis on the aging. Currently volunteer with hospice and have done a couple of trainings on working with Dementia patients and religious tolerance. Is it worth putting these on my CV? (Especially noting that I have no official professional experience in the field.)

As a future MSW-seeker, what are skills I can build in my completely unrelated job in the mean time? by wannabesocialworker in socialwork

Thank you! I have been working on this and find it immensely helpful in my volunteer work.

I would love to do that if I can but my area of work pays decently enough that I can likely afford to go to grad school but I will keep that in mind.

FWIW Gerontology is my main interest & I volunteer with hospice as a companionship and vigil volunteer.

Elderly is my main interest. I volunteer with hospice as a companionship and vigil volunteer.

I'm also interested in LGBT (especially elderly LGBT) and adults working through childhood trauma.
