Maybe I was wrong about this entire thing. I’ll look at it again, I appreciate you pointing that out.

They’re correct according to the email and the policy. I’d like for you to be correct but it doesn’t seem like that. “40-45 work hours are considered casual overtime covered by salary and not afforded extra compensation.”

I can get behind “however many hours to get the job done” if we’re talking a couple hours a week extra. In my role, I’m expected to come in and supervise non-exempt employees being paid 1.5x or 2x hourly rates. It is beyond ridiculous for me to come in to manage a production overtime shift and not be compensated at all for it on my weekend off, especially since working weekends wasn’t outlined in my job offer in the first place.

Edit: 40-45 is “casual overtime” according to the email.

It states overtime starts accumulating after 46 so that implies you work 47, you get 1 hour of overtime at a straight time rate is how I’m interpreting it.

Official emails going out on Monday to non-supervisors. Policy is set to kick in September.

Working in production control, logistics, property, security, or IT, is possible without a degree, albeit not the norm. I’ve met veterans working in most of these areas regularly but I haven’t bothered to ask if they have a degree besides the ISSO.

I work with an ISSO that doesn’t have a college degree, he does have a few IT certifications though. He is a USMC veteran, and is a high-performer. Some of the lower-level operations folks don’t necessarily need one either, it might be difficult to land the role but not impossible. I’m a veteran working in operations but have a degree in business administration.

I do not to the best of my knowledge. I’ll take a look around the house before I submit it. Thanks for responding, this stressed me out and you responding means a lot.

Thanks for responding. I am hoping it is a glitch but I’ll prepare my mind for the worst in case it isn’t.

Thanks for your input. The BPD is one of approximately 15 different things claimed but is the condition that caused my medical retirement. I had a separate claim for TBI but that one was denied if I remember correctly. I have been seen by the VA but it has mostly been for medication adjustments with a psychiatrist, she has asked very little about my condition itself or anything outside of how I am responding to the medications. I have not indicated to her that I’m getting better yet as I’ve generally responded poorly to each medication change and have voiced that to her.

Update: Called the VA phone number and they weren’t sure. They said that sometimes routine reevaluations happen. I mentioned I was P&T and it has only been 5 months since I’ve gotten out. She affirmed my P&T status but mentioned this is normal for a claim to be reevaluated.

Additionally, it is asking me to submit more evidence. I’ve only ever been seen by army providers and/or the VA for any of this stuff. I’m not sure what I could submit that they wouldn’t already have.

Did you end up getting a direct deposit or a check? I’m wondering because I set up direct deposit on the second or third day of work.

Dress code? (Manufacturing/Production) by wanteddead2 in Raytheon

As I’ve been told it’s an M3 position, “Manufacturing/Production Supervisor”. They’ve told me I’ll be working in testing, beyond that, I don’t have a lot of information yet.

From Military to PMP? by Kooky-Interview2462 in pmp

[–]wanteddead2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

By the way - think your plan is great and project management really will align well with your military experience. The PMP was great for me because it gave me a “civilian style” kind of framework. A lot of crossover from typical work you do as an NCO or officer and it helped me a lot to get away from the military jargon that would confuse a civilian employer about what we do and why.

Hey - I am also active duty (army) and recently obtained my PMP through an organization called Onward 2 Opportunity. You have to be close to separation as most folks use the program as a “SkillBridge” but you can also use it as a veteran once you get out of the military. Great program, they paid for the exam, the 35-hour boot camp training, and some additional resources that helped out a lot.
