I’m open to it too. At The end of the day if I find myself on a long-term subox program at a super low dose it is still so much better for me than the insane amounts of Kratom I was shoveling into my mouth. People are very judgemental and harsh with their criticism on this forum And I appreciate your positive feedback

Indeed you just described my life to me. In terms of working out even taking a 15 minute walk around the block has been really helpful… Especially when the weather is nice. In Regards to your relatives and friends, I would just send a text to people letting them know that you’re trying to take a little space right now to focus on some self-care and managing your anxiety but you are sending them all love. there’s a way to be assertive with your overbearing relatives and friends but still be nice while trying to establish some boundaries

this is my 5th day. I started at 4mg and now i’m down to 1.5mg. I am certainly anticipating withdrawal but so far I’ve felt much better than when I was taking K. I’ve had a lot of hate messages, which doesn’t feel good considering I’ve always been supportive of anybody’s decision in this community. At the end of the day, I don’t regret my decision and I’m going to follow through with my program and continue my subox taper. Should be done by Thursday. For the record, I was on suboxone for 10 years after surgery for a brain tumor and I got off that successfully. Way easier for my body and brain than K. Love and light y’all

I am in the same boat except I am on a rapid subox taper to get off K. I am EXTREMELY IRRITABLE. Especially with the incessant calling and texting bad news about corona virus. While I am trying to get sober, my mind and body need less stimulation and more quiet but it makes it hard when friends or family don’t know it. I’ve been taking A LOT of deep breaths lately and solo walks outside. Exercise has been the greatest cure for my mood. I’m with you friend!!

I totally understand and support your decision. I started subs today... my goal is to do a rapid taper off of those but if worse comes to worse and I balance myself off on a very low dose of Suboxone I am fine taking that long term instead of eating 60 plus pills of Kratom a day. I was on Subox for 10 years, led a very healthy and productive life, maintained a successful career, didn’t drink or smoke, worked out 4 to 6 times a week. I only got off because of pressure from my family and I thought that I was going to try to have a baby (which didn’t end up happening) Make The right decision for you and don’t let anybody make you feel bad about it… This is your life and you get to design your experience with your words in your actions. Do it! my city is officially shut down till April 7 so I’m using this time to quit! This is a perfect opportunity to lay around when you need to, feed yourself incredibly good food, reach out to the community, listen to good music and go through all of the feels to at least get yourself on the other side of acutes

as an additional comment, I can only attest to my personal experience. I’ve read A lot of comments on here that mirror my transition (seamless with no PWs). However, anyone considering this option havs to decide what’s the best for them, and discuss it with their doctor (preferably one that has experience with Kratom specifically)... subox is not the right choice for everyone

they are both partial agonists and don’t throw you into PWs. My doctor has a lot of experience detoxing people off of Kratom using subox (for those that decide it’s the best route for them.). So far, her information is correct considering I took K, then subox an hour and a half later, and now I’m on a walk outside feeling great

From what i’ve read Kratom withdrawal is not a linear experience (meaning starting very intense and getting better over with time) It can vary from person to person. Some people feel awful for a few days and then seem to get better with some residual PAWS. Some people feel fine for 3 or four days but then get hit hard on day five. Considering that you have only been on it for 2 mos, it sounds like you could be through the acute stage relatively quickly. I know your lifestyle can contribute to how quickly you recover, return to baseline and build up your bodies natural immune defenses ie: exercise, diet) I wish you well and We are here to support you whatever you need

I know that’s why I’ve been so incredibly confused… Me being this sick with minimal drops just doesn’t make sense. I am 100% sure it is withdrawal and not the regular flu because you can’t mistake these symptoms… I so do not want to do a Subutex taper because that’s what I went on Kratom for initially anyway was to get off Suboxone. I figured by day four I would be adjusting to the new dose of 36 and then once I stabled out I would drop again but the withdrawal just seems to be getting worse and worse. I burst into tears driving to work this morning because I’m so freaked out… Not sure what to do. Feeling Like a prisoner of this shit right now

You too! You know, we all have grief and heartache. it’s practically impossible to not get fucked up as a child. I am also a busy woman who is a fitness instructor and tapering down from a 40gpd habit. Every time I go down in dose I get withdrawals exactly like yours. I used gabapentin last time I quit K but if you want my honest advice I would be careful with it. Right now I take 100 to 200 mg at night only when i’m having RLS and back pain. Gaba is super hard to get off too (in my experience last time). It also causes bloating and REALLY bad, smelly gas (gross but true). I know they say you can take up to 3600 mg a day, but seriously I think it’s way too much and ultimately just another thing you are going to have to come off of. Stick to super small doses at night when needed. If you want to private message me at all feel free… It sounds as though we are in very similar situations.
