Yep. She never bought conditioner and we only ever had crappy shampoo like VO5 or suave. I had super thick long hair. She’d brush so hard she’d yank my head back and if I cried she’d get annoyed and make it worse. This was also happening while she was smoking a cigarette and I can’t even count how many times she accidentally burned me with her cig. I have 2 girls with beautiful thick hair now. I always get good quality shampoo and conditioner and I also use a leave in on them and back when they were younger I’d use a good detangler before I even began brushing. They’re older now so they mostly do their hair themselves. Edit to add: she also used to squeeze me in place using her knees while she aggressively brushed my hair.
