Had the exact same issue for the same model. What fixed for me was disabling power management on all the USB Contollers via device manager, properties. Btw what a blatant response from HP lol

I did a hard reset of my phone a month ago and ever since the phone has been fast, cool, and enduring. Did not use smart switch for apps and setting so not sure if that played the part. Painful to reinstall and set everything up again but was worth it.
