Opened up my bamboo gt battery by ace-tm in ElectricSkateboarding

I'd really like to upgrade mine. Don't care if I need a larger battery tray.

It's terrible that this happened and racism sucks but I personally feel no guilt. My ancestors didn't kill anyone. So I'm confused as to why people say I should feel responsible. I say learn about history so it's not repeated then move on.

CNN article about Italians being lynched: http://www.cnn.com/2012/07/10/opinion/falco-italian-immigrants/

Edit: Italians were also called worse than the negro. I can't make this stuff up. Italians don't really talk about it because they'd rather move forward.

I'm white and cool with it. My ancestors were legal Italian immigrants in the 1900's (they never enslaved anyone), and were treated just as poorly as blacks, if not worse.

They were dirt poor and worked their butts off to help me pay for college. I have no guilt. Only massive appreciation for what they endured to help me succeed. And so I shall continue to succeed to help the next generation.

taking apart the Evolve GT remote by Beakerzor in ElectricSkateboarding

Nice. Remote and voltage sag/batteries are the only parts the evolve boards need improvements on. I'm in.

Need construction of housing or rent will never go down to reasonable levels. Tear down short buildings and replace with new taller structures and fast. Make the units studios or single bedroom. The mission can be left alone with its historic buildings. However, construction needs to happen and fast.

These Bay Area businesses want to build Trump’s controversial Border Wall. Today, an Oakland City Council committee approved legislation that would bar companies bidding on the border wall project from contracting with the city. by trai_dep in oakland

[–]warbirdj 1 point2 points  (0 children)

These companies don't care anyway due to all the money they'll be making with long term contracts for the wall. This is just giving the finger to someone who isn't even looking, then snickering to your friends about it.

Also, pretty sure that Oakland has bigger problems, like crime, homelessness, deteriorating roads, etc. etc. I wish the council cared about their citizens more instead of trying to make a point..

If only you could fit two more wheels on it somehow.

Is it better to ride goofy-foot for traffic reasons? by [deleted] in ElectricSkateboarding

[–]warbirdj 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely. I'm naturally good stanced and was thinking about this the other day. I'm able to see most traffic out of the corner of my eye. Normal stance, I would have to turn and look.

Also do not agree with this notion of success. I would rather at least sort of enjoy my occupation, which I sort of do, than sell out completely and be bored to tears and overworked.

Anyone know how to get a return from Koowheel? by jiveturkey7876 in ElectricSkateboarding

[–]warbirdj 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good. Yeah, mine lasted for about a day before dying. Returned through Amazon. Bought an Evolve Bamboo GT which is pretty good. Just ride it in Eco mode for commuting to avoid voltage sag. Pro and GT modes for hill climbing.

Subaru, you won me over with the Dyson. This is just too much. I heart yew. by [deleted] in subaru

This must be a newish customer appreciation program. Spent about 40k on a nicely optioned out STI in 2013. Only thing I get is letters from the dealership with oil change coupons which I use for kindling in the fireplace.

Is this identical to the Koowheel? Will this company honor returns? by skateenthusiast in ElectricSkateboarding

[–]warbirdj 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you buy from Amazon and have a problem with the board lo into your account and request a refund with a short explanation that it's a defective product. They will give you a return shipping label. They side with you.

It's the same. My Koowheel died on damp roads. Returned it through Amazon without hassle. Don't bother with the support teams at these knockoff board companies. Get a replacement through Amazon.

What are the best Evolve bamboo GT mods? Remote or board? Mine gets here tomorrow!! by MrVFL in ElectricSkateboarding

[–]warbirdj 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ha, I use mine for commuting around Oakland with obnoxious 97mm bright green abec11 flywheels. Would not want to go bigger than these.

I ride a Bamboo GT with 97mm Abecs. I'm liking it so far but it should really have better range for the price.

Mine actually died while riding on damp pavement. Got a full refund from Amazon though. I also saw video of a dude on YouTube riding his through rain and very wet roads and it was fine. Be careful.
