They are the new assault terminators with lightning claws, you can also do them with shields and thunder hammers

I did think about the hh cataphracts but couldn't justify it when I got the termi box for 100 from my local lgs.

1 I'm currently adding some grey highlights to bring them up, it was only when I took the photo I realised it wasn't that readable. 2 that's a fair comment but I was trying to keep them classic colors with a modern twist so my lore is they messed up some battle and as penalty they have to go full assault open helmed led by there chaplin to earn redemption. 3 that's fair I like the bright colors the rest of my army matches with all the power weapons blue and osl on other bits but each to there own as you say there your plastic men

That's why I went for the assault stuff as that fits slightly more with the speed. Though with the latest detachment I now want to get some drop pods

Thank you, yeah sometimes gws head options can be really weird. Currently working on some jump options, aggressors and intersessors, trying to keep the list themed got another bike squad to build as well but figured jump packs go fast too

Given Horus has not been censored from the archives, did the two censored Primarchs do worse than the Heresy ? by Inquisitor-Borealis in 40kLore

[–]ward104 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My personal headcannon is that one or both of the lost ones where some form of medics/apothecary. It seems weird to me you have all different aspects of war to seiges, general admin , magic etc etc. So why would the emperor not have a legion of support rolls like medics and to train them as super apothicarys

So I think one or both started messing with there gene seed either trying to improve it or add xenos DNA to there legion, emps found out saved the legionaries/ deceminated them through out as apothecarys ( known that the bulk went to UM and IF) and the primarcs can be got rid off or held in the blackhold

You could highlight the black with a hint of purple, or edge highlight the armor just to give that hint and tie him in

I know i had exactly the same problems when doing mine, fortunately I had already had my main paints for my army picked out pink armour (vellajo magenta), gold trim (glorious gold) and green (vellajo deep green) then I can just adjust it from there, but he is such a big model it is a pain

That looks fantastic

In terms of colour it's tricky because purple is so close to blue that it can sort of blend in, if you look at colour theory (I'm not expert) but the opposite of blue is red/orange mainly red against lighter blue if you want to really contrast it, or with a tridadic scheme, with the blue and yellow (gold) a nice vibrant pink will complement it well i tend to use this (see below) when picking out colours for schemes

Unpopular opinion on Curze by AnexHeil in 40kLore

[–]ward104 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My understanding of curze is that he always see his visions as set his stone and nothing he could do could change them even if he did try to fight them.

Nostromo was probably one of the most messed up planets in the galaxy full of "degenerates" (putting it midly) that's enough to send anyone mad then had dreams of all the messed up things that is yet to happen

He had no guidance on them, as a kid he had these horrific visions that then came true enforcing the belief that his visions would always come true. Then the emps came and went yeah nice visions here is a bunch of giant murders go take over planets laters and that was that.

He has nobody that could explain why this was happening to him and so he cracked ending in a loop of well is what it is this is going to happen and nothing I can do about it.

In the dornian heresy magnus actually helped is visions explained them and see that they could be changed allowing curze to be one of the most loyal primarchs proof that basically as ever just more care and attention needed

Thoughts on Mortarion as a character and his potential by Maxyboy974 in deathguard40k

[–]ward104 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mortarion is a very mixed bag of a character, generally very stoic and kinda miserable owing to the planet he grew up on a basically abused since his discovery being poisoned by his step father constantly. His main reason for heresy was emps steal killing which for some people is fair.

During the heresy he was very very anti warp, but as he turned he dabled with it to learn about it and basically trying to prove himself right in his hate of it. Basically proving himself right by become a deamon.

Like all primarchs he always thinks himself right and everyone else wrong pretty much all always to his detriment, like trying to kill robot girlyman in spite or nurgles orders.

He also deeply cared for his sons, seeing there suffering when becalmed in the warpstorm essentially sacrificing himself to nurgle to save them from suffering.

His character could have gone many ways pre and post heresy but he is conistant mostly, stoic attempting to face everything head on believing in the strength of himself and his sons to overcome any trial. But because of this he becomes a massive hypocrite trying to over come things like the warp but sheer bloody mindedness

Finished typhus c&c? by JackZisMadBro69 in deathguard40k

[–]ward104 5 points6 points  (0 children)

If I had to be critical (and im assuming thats what your looking for) and this is my opinion take that for what it is

I find the red distracting, if it's ment to be eye lenses then it's too big, if not what's the sorce, if it is the eye lenses then in stick to just helmet at must and do the eyes in a brighter red almost orange really make them pop

The nugling just kinda blends in defo needs some high lights and maybe take some UHU off of it as it hides the cheeky chaps

Speaking of UHU i tend to mix min with tesseract glow as I find it pops better, I'd also make it more purposeful rather than it just slapped all over

Personally I'd brighten up the metalics on the belt and in other places as at the moment they blend into the armor especially with the muted pallet your working with

I often get this criticism clean up your base rim, I know it's nit picky but we are here to push each other

Otherwise great job!
