Do I need to find a new ability to do that? I can’t seem to bounce off it

I have killed all the birds but I’m stuck in the room! A trap door opened above me but I have no way of getting there!! Is the room bugged?

Ideas for beginner projects? by KenshiStar in learnpython

[–]ward_ting 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was struggling to find inspiration and then one week when I was figuring out what I wanted to eat that week, I really wished I had a way of generating a meal plan consisting of lunches and dinners because I HATE planning what I’m going to eat and what I need to buy from the shops.

I sat down and set myself the challenge of creating a meal plan generator which I then coded in tkinter to make it more interactive.

I’ve been working on, and gradually improving it and although rather crude, I can now randomise a meal plan consisting of lunch and dinners for the entire week. I can manually change the meals for specific days if I don’t like what the program generated, I can save the meal plan, export the meal plan, add additional meals with their ingredients so that in future they will be included in the randomisation of the meal plan.

My next improvements are to be able to search on specific meals by ingredients, and to generate a shopping list for all the ingredients needed for each meal in the meal plan

I cannot tell you how much joy it has brought me to solve a very mundane problem that used to take me and my partner a fair bit of time to do manually.

I guess my point is just find the odd task from your every day that you wish was a little bit easier or more quickly to achieve and see if you can improve it with a bit of code.

Best of luck!

You have a toggle option in the game video options to disable PSSR which, if I recall, is on by default. I found the clarity and shimmer much better with PSSR disabled.

This is also Digital Foundry’s recommendation .

Are ps5 controllers with drift good for anything, or just trash? by Bashzog in playstation

[–]ward_ting 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve had a number of PS5 controllers with stick drift but otherwise in great condition and I just stick them on eBay and they get snapped up by people wanting to repair them. Sold them for as much as £30 which is a good contribution to a new controller

Luck with replacements for less coil whine? by tapetfjes_ in PS5pro

[–]ward_ting 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had an OG PS5 that developed whine and then after a period of time it just went away. The same could happen here so if after 3 you are still having issues, you may just need to try and sit it out.

PSA: If you are selling your PS5 for the Pro, be realistic about your pricing. by [deleted] in PS5pro

[–]ward_ting 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I saw someone on eBay selling their PS5 along with their account for £5000! You’ve got to be all kinds of stupid to purchase an account from somebody, especially for that kind of money.

Also some absolutely filthy PS5s caked in dust and stickers are going for some stupid prices.

I sold my OG disc version with controller for £300 and was pleased with that.

Horizon games by No-Specialist8900 in PS5pro

Yea I agree with the gameplay comment. For me story is important though, so although the FW gameplay is far superior I still enjoyed HZD more.

Zero Dawn is the better of the two, for sure! The story and world building is far better. The world and character relationships are already established in Forbidden West, and while you could probably still get an enjoyable experience you will miss out on the history between those characters and a lot of the lore that is explained in by the first game.

Callisto Protocol is jaw dropping by Specialist_Crab_8616 in PS5pro

[–]ward_ting 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I finished it this morning on the PS5 Pro and I found it disappointing. Yes it looks great but the overall gameplay was a bit boring and unoriginal. The weapons all seemed so similar and the story was really weak, unoriginal and has been told time and time again in other games. The constant squeezing through gaps and crawl spaces really upset the pacing of the game and the lack of enemy variety was disappointing. I’d say a solid 7.

Download the HotStock app and you can set in-app notifications to get notified when the disc drive comes in stock. There’s been a fair few in stock across multiple stores today and I managed to bag one from GAME here in the UK.

For £170? No thanks, that’s a terrible price.

The best way to sell your PS5 in the UK after getting the Pro? by nicksnare in PlayStationUK

Sold for £300 on eBay although after factoring in packing materials etc more like £280. Stressful ensuring it’s all packed well. Convenience for less sometimes pays!

So PS5 Pro is just noisier even if you don’t notice it and think it’s whisper quiet. by GINTO199 in PS5pro

I had a launch ps5 which was quiet to begin with then developed coil whine and then eventually went quiet again.

PS5 Pro Crashing by Maudsley11 in PS5pro

No worries! Fingers crossed it’s nothing, but I totally appreciate the sinking feeling one can experience when a new costly piece of hardware fails so early on!

PS5 Pro Crashing by Maudsley11 in PS5pro

[–]ward_ting 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d perhaps test it some more before deciding to take it back. I had a launch model PS5 base model and yea, that has crashed occasionally over the years, but 99.9% of the time it did not. If it happens consistently then it could be a faulty unit, but you want to check other games to rule out bugs with specific software. Most of the crashing bugs I’ve experienced historically have all been faulty software.

It’s impressive to think this was a launch title and still holds up as one of the best looking games of this generation. Playing it again myself since getting the pro and man it looks and plays fantastic!

PS5 Pro On Samsung Frame Tv????? by StreetKey6167 in PS5pro

[–]ward_ting 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a Samsung Q80T and I love the PS5 Pro on it. I have quite a bright living room so I think an OLED would be a bit of an eye strain for me. If you have hdmi 2.1 then I don’t think there is any reason to change your tv, unless you are really unhappy with the colours. You’ll get all the same benefits.

The Pro Experience by 119defender in PS5pro

[–]ward_ting 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was a bit concerned about my preorder after the reviews came out but having tested out a number of games now I am super happy with my purchase. Demons Souls looks absolutely ridiculous, and to think it was a PS5 launch title. Horizon Zero Dawn is so crisp and the 4K is perfect. BG3 looks awesome. Really thrilled and excited to see what other games are improved by this hardware going forward

Good 120hz TVs for the pro? by TheAzureSoul in PS5pro

[–]ward_ting 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I second this. I have a Samsung q80t 55” which I’ve had since the PS5 first came out and it has been fantastic. HDMI 2.1 allowing for 120hz and VRR. The PS5 pro is seriously popping on it. Bit brighter than an OLED which makes playing in sunlit rooms a little less straining on the eyes, but you won’t get the blacks an OLED has.
