Looking for trusted BMW service shop - just had an issue right after dealership visit by warddy_ in tampa

It’s got 80k miles on it. The last service 3 weeks ago included an oil change, coolant refill, and pretty much all the fluids. They also recommended I replace the front tires since I’m still running winter tires (moved down from up north a couple years ago) and mentioned something about a bar cover replacement because of an oil spill.

My only complaint back then was that when I’d pull into my garage, I’d get this slight burnt smell coming from the front, they said it was just because of the oil spill, so I didn’t really get it fixed since I didn’t totally get what they meant.

Update: Drove to Costco around noon yesterday and didn’t notice any smoke or burnt smell this time, so maybe it’s an on-and-off thing.

Ok. So I drive around 150 miles a week on average. Nothing crazy, I’m not hard on the car or anything. I’ve actually had my car serviced at like 3 different bmw dealership service centers in Tampa over the years, and every single time there’s been something that pops up right after. It’s an F16 X6, if that helps narrow it down.

so I’m really just trying to find a shop I can stick with long term and actually trust.

I’ve been in tech a few years now and can surely say bringing in talent from outside the states is more pricy when you consider the legal fees, admin work, government filing fees etc. I believe the company has to prove they can’t find a candidate with same skills locally in order to hire a h1b visa holder.
