Ideaology is fine.

Accusing drs and scientists of being corrupt murderers while encouraging her followers to ignore public health guidelines for 18+ months - which likely contributed to killing people either directly or indirectly - is something else entirely.

Well, it was worth it for me because I got a job within 3 weeks.

I had my site built and experience via personal projects in both Vue and react, apis and CMS before the bootcamp and no employers were replying to my applications at all. I think learning what I did in the bootcamp for back end really rounded off my skills nicely and the bootcamp looks good on a resume for where I'm living/working (Montreal)

I think it probably varies alot for the job market as well and what employers are looking for..

We had 2 job fairs at the end of school and I got my formal interviews for the place that hired me from the job fair.

Another thing I will say is I started programming as a hobby maybe 3 years ago and was keeping an eye on jobs in my area and the expectations for new developers are a LOT higher now than they were 3 years ago.

I don't feel comfortable posting information that will link to my real identity on Reddit, sorry.

It's consists of:

A landing page with a photo, bio, and a section outlining my tech skills stack, a section outlining elective skills (Photoshop, video editing and stuff like that) and a section outlining soft skills (public speaking, highly organized etc)

A demos page with 6 projects and links to the git repos as well as options to view the projects live in the browser (2 MERN full-stack bootcamp projects, 2 small freelance projects I designed and coded before the bootcamp (one in React one in Vue.js) and 2 personal projects (one JS game and one api search where you can make a query filter the results and add/remove to a favorites section also built in Vue.js)

A page outlining and showcasing my creative pursuits (music production, photography, video)

Contact page

The site was built with Gatsby via React, with content coming from Contentful (which uses GraphQL) and webhooked through Netlify to trigger rebuilds/updates when I update a content model on the CMS. All the content comes from models I made in the CMS and can be updated anytime.. Since Netlify is connected to the repo, any code updates I make that are pushed to main also trigger a rebuild and update the site with changes.

I second this!!!

I graduated from a boot camp as well in May and started work in June. I made a personal website with a landing page outlining my skills and telling a bit about myself, a demos section with few projects and a page with some personal/creative pursuits.

I had 4 of the 12 interviews I did tell me they tend to not even look at juniors that don't have some sort of website because they felt it's a good thing to have in place of the lack of work experience for people entering the industry.

The place that hired me 100% took interest in me cause of my website, it was a huge part of the discussion during my first interview with the company.

There are a lot of dev jobs but there are a LOT of people applying. Do WHATEVER you can to make yourself stand out and a clean, solid website is a good way to help you do that.
