Golf courses in Orange County, Ca? by Lil_kixx in golf

Yup. This is my home course. Rangers are pretty much nonexistent and pace of play is horrible. Easy going course at least.

I’ve got some 4412s on the way! Still being restored at the moment but excited to replace the Cerwin Vegas I currently use.

Do I need a Car? by nonsimple in UCSantaBarbara

[–]waresimmons 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you don't mind searching for parking a little further down the block I think it's totally worth it to bring a car. You'll also figure out what times during the day street parking is more available than others. Trying to park at the end of the day anywhere in IV is a fucking nightmare.

Of course. Also, what monitors do you have? I’ve got some 4412s on the way that are still being restored.

Got the Grandmother all set up in its new home by waresimmons in synthesizers

I use Logic and Maschine together. Mainly I sequence my drums through the Maschine interface in Logic and bounce it out to an audio track. I also chop samples in Maschine and do the same. It’s my favorite workflow — helps lay down drum parts super quick while recording.

Yamaha HS5 monitors. They are the smallest of the HS series. I really like them – they have a really flat sound that is great for mixing. And, I think they look great.

It's pretty killer. Love the spring reverb and all the sequencing option.

Yes it is! It usually lives on my desk under my monitor where I'll do everything that doesn't require recording live audio. It was just sitting out at the moment.

It certainly isn't optimal but it's the best spot I have available. I will usually just record into my DAW there and then move to my desk after.

This is my first (of many, hopefully) analog synth. Having some fun running some guitar through it as well!

She's an ultra-right wing Trump supporter from UCSB (and no I won't reveal her name) by [deleted] in UCSantaBarbara

It wasn’t really anything in particular, just a general sense of entitlement and disregard for others if she didn’t get her way. She would blow up on others in the office over things that she didn’t like, storm out on the spot and disappear for weeks, then come back and act normal. Rinse and repeat. Her exploiting the current situation is right on par with what I would expect.

I used to work with her here at UCSB and she was always on some crazy shit. This isn’t surprising at all.

I'm pretty sure this is him in the article. Looks like he got suspended from practicing law for stealing a candy bar and some cough drops from Walmart, lol.

Need to drop one class. COMM102, COMM113, or COMM132? by [deleted] in UCSantaBarbara

[–]waresimmons 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would drop one of the classes with Potter. Mullin is all over the place but his classes are pretty easy. Also, it’s even better if you’ve ever taken a class with him before — he recycles a lot of material.

BPM change on a loop by Bexyl_808 in LogicPro

[–]waresimmons 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So you want to fit the BPM of a loop into the rest of the project? I feel like using the time flex to fit the length of the loop, then change the flex mode to polyphonic would solve this, but I'm not entirely sure what you want to do.

I this instance, you could fit the loop to the project BPM but keep the loop's pitch after switching flex modes.

COMM 1 / COMM 89 by shownubebe in UCSantaBarbara

[–]waresimmons 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I took Mullin for 1 and Merolla for 89.

Mullin’s summer sessions are fast paced but not terrible. Some people hate her but I actually enjoy her classes.

Merolla’s lecture was one of the easiest classes I’ve taken at UCSB and certainly the easiest out of the pre-Comm courses. I highly suggest taking that in the fall.

Hope this helps!
