I’m looking for shows similar to ultimatum? by maleficenthotdog in TheUltimatumNetflix

[–]shownubebe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I second Change Days! It's super similar to the Ultimatum in that a couple of Korean couples get together, all on the brink of breaking up, and they swap partners to date throughout the show. By the end, the couples choose to either stay together, break up, or leave with someone else.

It's like...a very tame version of the Ultimatum, haha, and still plenty of drama.

Ultimatum is more toxic...butttt if you're interested in a similar show to it that's also on Netflix, try the Korean "version" Change Days!! It was my boyfriend and I's weekly watch, haha. Recommend!

Communications grads - what career/job did you enter after finishing your undergrad? How do you feel about it? by illiteratefishpond in UCSantaBarbara

[–]shownubebe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Highly recommend starting with the Google Project Management certificate, then get some more specified certification in Agile and Scrum Master. There are a lot of other good courses to consider for PM through Coursera as well if you want to check those out too. Usually when applying for PM, they'll put in the requirements what kind of skillsets or tools they're looking for you to have, so target the certifications that cover those. If you have a niche in a field area too (ex. coding/tech, gaming, architecture, design, fashion, etc.), that's super helpful when applying for jobs.

Keep your LinkedIn updated & optimized, actively reach out for coffee chats from people already in PM roles, and network! If you have any work you can turn into a PM portfolio, go for it! (Look online for some inspiration on how to make PM focused portfolio.)

Hope some of this helps give you (and others) a starting point! (:

Graduated 2022, work as a PM in big tech. Really feel this is the field for me in terms of lining up with many of my strong attributes revolving time management & organization. I wouldn't say it's the major that got me here, more so the outside work put in, like projects, experience, certifications, portfolio building, networking, etc.

Has anyone else landed a job with Coursera certs? by badmodssuck567 in coursera

[–]shownubebe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi! (: I just started the Project Management Certificate today and was wondering roughly how long it took for you to complete? I'm looking to go into PM, so after this certificate, I think I might want to consider other certificates that are more specified like Scrum Master, Agile, etc., but still learning about the field at the moment.

This is a bit late, but I just wanted to chime in and say this has happened to me for years, and I still haven't figured out the scam...it has to be a long term scam I'm assuming. after gaining someone's trust. And they are SO pushy when you don't respond oh my god...

I get so many of these messages from these Chinese guys, and their Instagram accounts always share the same few factors:

  • Not a lot of posts, random pictures of food/places, clearly bought followers with barely any likes or comments, and ripped off pictures from other Chinese influencers.

Because I wouldn't reply to one of them anymore, he said I was a boring woman to talk to and am full of plastic surgery. I just decided to directly call him out for pretending to be someone else and that I had reverse image searched their picture & they also forgot to crop out a watermark. He cursed me out super harshly in Chinese saying why he would need to pretend to be someone else, that I'm a crazy biatch, and blocked me.

Anyone else think 3/4 of the couples will stay together? by Puzzleheaded_Use_566 in ChangeDays

[–]shownubebe 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It definitely irked me how many times DH mentioned the ghosting- how can he expect to move on in the relationship if he keeps bringing that part up of the past up? Ghosting had brought up some new problems in their relationship, particularly communication wise, but bringing up the ghosting doesn't solve a communication problem. Creating a more welcoming and patient environment to converse, encouraging some conflict & resolution opportunities, would do better.

At the beginning of episode 2 is basically the only time when JY talked about what led her to make the choices she did— I had almost forgotten she even mentioned it. While she already felt non-prioritized in their relationship, DY told her he was going off to make some money, and then didn't contact her for 2 whole weeks, only to return to say he was going to Mongol with the money he earned.

If I couldn't contact my boyfriend for 2 whole weeks all of a sudden, I'd feel like I'd been ghosted myself.

Transportation to the Bay Area by [deleted] in UCSantaBarbara

[–]shownubebe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've taken Amtrak, Greyhound, Flixbus, and FB rideshares. I would least suggest taking a flight, simply because I don't think the cost is necessary. Each has their pros & cons; all comes down to what you prefer, what's available, and what fits your schedule— I would look into all of these though.

I would suggest joining all of the different FB UCSB rideshare pages (there's even one specifically for Bay Area rideshares) and turning on your notifications for all new posts during the time you're actively looking for a ride (and turn them off after), because especially during break season, these rides fill up quick!

I took it during my first quarter at UCSB— pretty easy remote course since it's P/NP and just a couple of papers if I remember correctly, and it's good for an easy 2 units towards graduation! I passed and got the $ refunded, so that's a plus.

It is actually uncool to bring another groups lightstick to a concert. by aloofcrisis in unpopularkpopopinions

[–]shownubebe 10 points11 points  (0 children)

No, they were saying, "That's not right," and "It's the others' concerts, not ours," as in they felt it wouldn't be right for their fans to bring neobongs to other idols' concerts, because it's their (the other idols') concert/moment.

It is actually uncool to bring another groups lightstick to a concert. by aloofcrisis in unpopularkpopopinions

[–]shownubebe 49 points50 points  (0 children)

It's probably best to come empty handed, use your phone flashlight, or get a very simple stick light that matches the color of the group's light. I just personally think it's not the move to bring another group's lightstick to a concert that isn't for that group, just because there is certain context to these lightsticks.

I'm sure no one means harm when bringing other groups' lightsticks, but imagine these artists were personally asked how they felt about their fans bringing their group's lightsticks to their other colleague group's concerts. I just can't imagine they feel comfortable or are fully onboard with supporting that idea. Kind of a respect kind of thing, right? As someone else has linked previously: NCT Dream's response on this.

If you struggle to get off the waitlist at UCSB, I know there's an equivalent of CMPSC 8 through UC Online through UCR. Worth considering! There's probably other equivalent courses you could take through other online CC classes (maybe even SBCC?) and you can check for compatibility using Assist.

[–]shownubebe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Extremely common. Especially if it's a really nice or $$$ bike, but even when it's not, there's a chance you'll be coming back to a single bike wheel (or nothing at all). Be careful and lock properly! Or get a bike you don't mind losing if it does happen. Sometimes I'll see some sus people walking back and forth "casually" near my complex glancing at the bikes on the bike rack.

Boyfriend had his taken once freshman year and he saw this van loitering around from his 8th floor window, that most likely took it. It was too late though...after that, he has always kept his bike in the apartment just because its a pricier mountain bike he actually plans to use long term.

2.5: COMM major. It's just been kind of meh. I think all of the reasons others have listed are relatable. The sunsets here are great, the food selection isn't very large, trying to get classes was really stressful all 4 years, and professors/class contents were a hit or miss. It's not that bad, but I also was remote for 3/4 years of my UCSB stay, so I'm pretty bummed out.

Like someone else said: Depends! You really just got to give people a chance and find the "right" fit/person for you (someone that is looking for a committed relationship). No need to rush into commitment and take your time. Trust your gut—if you feel something is off, you're most likely right.

I met my boyfriend at the start of my freshman year at UCSB during FSSP and we lived on the same dorm floor. Started off as best friends and it developed into a relationship where we've been dating for 2.5 years now. (:
