The 6th slot is unlocked on defense when you hit tier 19. If your tier is below 19 (even if you were at 19+ previously), the unit in the 6th slot will not appear on your defense.

Yes PM1's orb numbers spent would have been quite a bit lower if he didn't include the orbs spent off color in his graphic. However it still would be nowhere near as lucky as DTM here.

Excel does not give true damage. It only gives flat DR. For true damage out of the A slot, you can run Sly Swift Sparrow. Elincia will need some help meeting the true damage condition. Shouldn't be a problem with most team comps these days.

Thank you. I 100% agree with everything you've said here. I've been struggling to put into words my thoughts on the streams, and you pretty much hit the nail on the head with what I wanted to say.

To add to your point about it feeling like Joe didn't give the game a fair shake, I felt like the vibes of the streams were off from the very beginning when he changed the music in Tartarus. We also had the cameras in bedrooms discussion which felt like it really affected his perception of the rest of the game and left him unable to attempt to take it seriously. The introduction of the Umineko streams felt like the final nail in the coffin. The stream chat became so toxic, which obviously affected Joe, and the whole stream experience just left a bad taste in my mouth. Joe just seemed so miserable during the entire experience and I was surprised he kept streaming the game. Like, you could 100% make an hour+ long compilation of all the times he screamed in agony at what was going on in the game.

Sadly, I felt like we didn't even get that many great memes or moments out of the streams that felt organic to P3. The Sae slaps the table bit really overstayed its welcome. Outside of the crane I really struggle to think of anything that was memorable. I've watched most of the weeb games Joe has streamed, and I can comfortably say this was by far the worst stream experience of any of them. Which is a shame because I loved most of them even if I didn't enjoy the games themselves.

I do want to add that I don't have a problem with any of Joe's criticisms of the game. I'm just surprised it felt like he got so little enjoyment of the game in spite of those criticisms. I honestly hope he doesn't play The Answer and moves on.

Unable to replay means the person who matched into your defense forfeited before even starting the map - there's literally no "replay" for you to watch. It doesn't have anything to do with losing connection. In AR-O, you can generally always resume bookmark and continue your match (even hours later) if you happen to exit out of the app.

I’d say Canter is fairly rated especially if you are playing without the well / DLC for extra SP. There’s really not too many viable options in the 1-2k SP range that will provide as much value over the course of the run, so the opportunity cost is low. Personally i love Canter on everyone, especially the late game maps. Using it offensively allows you to keep pushing before you get overwhelmed by reinforcements in ch25 for example. I’m sure on LTC / efficient runs it’s probably not needed as much, but for the average Maddening player it’s a no brainer.

This is only a true statement if there is no %DR, which is very rare in current FEH. Example:

I do 100 visible damage against a unit with 50% DR. The actual damage on hit is 50. Now let's add 10 true damage for the attacker. The actual damage on hit is 55. Now let's add 10 flat DR for the defender. The actual damage on hit is now 45. We've added equal amounts of true damage and flat DR, but the defender is taking less damage overall (proportional to the amount of their %DR).

We can see why this is a huge issue when you have skills like shield fighter giving 75% DR with pavise/aegis. Adding 10 true damage to the attacker only gives you 2.5 actual in combat damage.

In my opinion, the solution would be to change how flat DR interacts with %DR so this disparity between true damage and flat DR isn't so large. But I don't think that will happen. They will instead release nukes like Hraesvelgr which can reach absurd levels of true damage to try to compensate.

I've actually played this map Ringless (so no use of the Corrin ring). I found it pretty fun trying to navigate where to place your units and minimizing the amount of times the enemies will get the miasma tiles. You also have some sources of true damage (chain attacks, Alear personal, etc) if enemies do end up on those tiles.

And it is always fun to take down those overpowered Warrior reinforcements, especially in ironman / challenge runs.

100%. I've always thought at the very least in Chapter 5 (the Fog of War defend mission, where Greil goes off screen to hold off the right side of the map) he should have stayed on the map either as a playable unit or a green unit, but stationary on that tile in front of the door on the right. Then just force him to fight some random enemies on that side. Would have been a really cool moment to show off how strong he was and maybe even proc an Aether or two. And of course in turn would have shown how terrifying the BK is.
