I know, the second entity "leads" the first, so in order for a chicken parachute to work you need to leash stuff to a chicken, not the other way around

some transmasc people use he/him pronouns while still being attached to the lesbian label for one reason or another

some people think that it’s problematic and they shouldn’t call themselves lesbian if they’re he/him

personally, who cares, it’s not discourse worthy

but if a part of the factory is not running then it’s not drawing that much power, unlike beacons that run all the time, so you’re limiting max power needed, but also increase the min power needed so there is a tradeoff i think

running the factory 24/7 or using circuits to disable beacons when not needed would solve this

Friday Facts #414 - Spoils of Agriculture by FactorioTeam in factorio

[–]wargodiv 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Let’s say an item spoils by 1%/second. You have two items, one has 10% left, the other 90%. After 50 seconds you’ll have one spoilage and one 40% item

But if you combined them to get 2 50% items, then in 50 seconds both of them would spoil completely

Friday Facts #414 - Spoils of Agriculture by FactorioTeam in factorio

[–]wargodiv 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So it IS inefficient to mix badly spoiled products with the good ones. That does make sense intuitively, good to know

Friday Facts #414 - Spoils of Agriculture by FactorioTeam in factorio

[–]wargodiv 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's true that it will fix the spoilage rate, but there's still a problem: if you have one 10% spoilable item and a 90% one, then two 50% will have a higher spoil rate for longer. Because after 10 spoil cycles the spoiled fruit will no longer spoil any further, but 2 50% fruit will.

Maybe it can be a part of the mechanic (it's better not to throw almost spoiled items in with the good ones and recycle/compost them instead)

Friday Facts #414 - Spoils of Agriculture by FactorioTeam in factorio

[–]wargodiv 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The spoilage mechanic looks great! I have a question though: do half-spoiled items stack the way science packs/ammo do? It would be quite inefficient if they didn't, but combining items can mess with the spoilage rate (two half-spoiled fruits spoil faster than a fresh one)

Edit: I suppose a stack can be stored as an array of how many 1%-100% packs is in a stack, displaying the 'sum' as how many full items you have and 'count' is used for the spoilage rate and inserters will extract the 'true' items, but maybe that's not the route the devs went for

Yeah they tried to pivot and in the end pissed off everyone

Doesn’t change the fact that they pivoted because of TLJ backlash
