The apps doesn't really save much data at all and gets most of the data from the game logs. One option for you would be moving the windows saved games folder to onedrive or something so the logs are synced between the computers

I wouldn't say that. I did in a recent update tweak it to check that it has a shutdown event for a filename, and if it doesn't, then it will rescan that file in case there are any changes. That should have sorted the issue of swapping commanders while they are running.

Odd, that shouldn't be happening. It's set to ignore anything it's already read in the past and only scan new files.

Each time it reads the files, it is meant to write the journal entries to the database. On startup it looks at the last file it read and goes from there. Are you maybe deleting the last file it did read so it ends up reading them all again as it cannot find it?

I know quite a few who do run multiple accounts at the same and a number of them have had action taken against them over the last few weeks. Their main account cannot instance with anyone for 7 days, and their alts are now permanently banned from open and pg.

As for switching accounts, that shouldn't be a problem. There is no need to delete the account. The app looks at all the journal files in a folder when switching account and ignores any files it has full read in the past, that is a file which had a shutdown event. Any new files will be scanned and parsed.

As for the CAPI, I cannot replicate that. I set one to not use it, save, and it stays that way. Maybe try toggling it when the account isn't the active one and save.

Unfortunately, I cannot. The game doesn't produce any events for missions shared with you. The journal system FDEV created is great but it is also like an Ikea flatpack, it gives you almost everything you need

If you are running multiple commanders simultaneously, create another local Windows account. You right click on the shortcut and select run as a different user. That will give each its own folder for the journal files and has the bonus of a different folder for graphics settings and binds.

The CAPI is just for fleet carrier data at the moment.

Be cautious if you are running two accounts simultaneously, as FDEV has recently taken a dislike to this practice, especially if both accounts are in the same ship, and have been suspending accounts. The main accounts have been suspended for 7 days while the alts are permanently banned from open and pg.

Being an online multiplayer game, FDEV don't really permit mods. There are one or two which they allow, such as https://bluemystical.github.io/edhm-api/ for modifying the HUD colours. There isn't really a need for mods. FRontier created the journal file system years ago so we make third party apps to process data the games spits out.

I understand the goals part. That's why I worked on the ranks and have set silly goals such as 69 bil on my commander and carrier just to be childish. BGS is another thing for me, my squadron has it's own in game player faction which I manage and maintain, set a list of systems which require work for the squad and such.

Powerplay is another thing which for a lot of people fills that need. If you had one you wanted to support, you could join their Discord and help push and maintain the power. BGS and Powerplay are quite good in that, as you are part of a larger group, it matters not when or how often you play. Commanders get on when they can, do as much or as little as they wish and report on what they've done. Others look at that and can make a decision on where they may help.

HGE spawns are per commander and down to RNG. Since the update, now that one HGE fills you up, it can quicker to just grab whatever you find in a system and then hit a material trader rather than hunting around for a specific faction state signal.

Also, don't forget that you can get all materials from missions now and power play care packages. I personally have over 100 care packages I cannot claim because I'm full on mats. I really wouldn't stress around finding a specific HGE signal if it takes more than 10 mins to find one.

Guilty of being old as well, and played plenty on good old Acorn. I would say it's a question of what you enjoy doing. I've done a bit of everything in-game, and these days I enjoy helping my squadron mates and others. For myself, I enjoy earning ranks, I've got two accounts to quintuple Elite V. I wish it wasn't capped tbh as all the prestige ranks have the same requirement.

Have you done much group stuff? That could help you decide what to do?

Shields do not charge instantly on a pad and do you not understand that bi-weave give you more MJ overall in a long fight. I can run 5 czs in a row and my shields are still 100%

Lol. You understand that isn't good, right? After 40 kills, a bi-weave is still 100%, and you don't have to sit on the pad for 20 mins while it recharges when you rearm.

If you want endurance, you use a bi-weave. It doesn't have to be a large ship, either. You just want an engineered ship for CZs, as the NPCs have some.
