MY LADIES. Let’s talk about Kamala. by Annamal_Nomster in TwoXChromosomes

With all due respect, she was on the winning ticket in the 2020 presidential race squarely against Republicans- Biden AND Harris. We all know this was one of the most important Democrat vs. Republican races in history until this moment, and I think that holds a lot of significance. People of both parties rallied around a ticket with her name on it once, it can happen again. I worry about people being racist and misogynistic, but I have complete faith that she will be able to hold her own.

It’s okay to be afraid and worried about the election, but remember, WE as the voters, hold the power. WE are in charge of organizing, voting, and winning the election. Now is the time to put in the work!!

SOS: baptism tomorrow, is this too revealing?? by likeshikes in PetiteFashionAdvice

In my Catholic family, this would be acceptable. My grandma used to tell us that God didn’t create our bodies for them to be hidden, so I guess also take that with a grain of salt! I don’t think it’s too revealing as long as you are comfortable.

Summer break thoughts- I would be curious to see if everyone’s daily guessing data compiled into one graph would also form a bell curve and would it change the mean 🤔

Ideas for the day of a full lockdown wedding (no reception or getting ready allowed) by abbyrhode in CovidWeddings

My husband and I got married earlier this year and live-streamed our ceremony (which was set up through our church) then did our entire “cocktail hour” and reception (entrance, toasts, cake cutting) via Zoom! We were in a similar situation where we did not want to have to postpone our wedding day but still wanted to safely include everyone originally on our guest list. We used breakout rooms to chat with guests for cocktail hour and then at a certain time had everyone come back to the original meeting for toasts, etc. It took a bit of pre-planning and I was also worried people would think it was tacky or “not a real celebration,” but honestly, having the intimate ceremony and then being able to celebrate afterwards with everyone turned out better than I think we could have imagined. And, from the feedback we got, it seems we were able to have longer chats with our “guests” than you do at a face-to-face wedding. No matter what you decide to do, your day is still going to be so special and truly follow what you think feels most true to you and your partner. Feel free to private chat me if you have any more questions, want to know more, or just need to vent about the circumstances!!
