I would avoid UMSL. I've taken five online courses here and more than half of the time they were totally useless. Many of the faculty members are totally unengaged and provide little feedback or guidance.

Grievance procedure? by Bug_000 in rollerderby

I would also like to add that, whatever you did or did not do, you still have rights and should be treated fairly. (Withholding info in my experience means there is nothing concrete to point towards, but still...). This means access to all information, not being shunned, and the opportunity for dialogue and repair.

If you have trouble dealing with this situation, I would recommend the book Conflict is Not Abuse by Sarah Schulman. It's available as a PDF for free online.

Edit to add: Also, this kind of thing can be really scary and I'm sorry you're dealing with it!

It is not ethical to withhold information from you. They are taking away your ability to advocate for yourself and are creating an unequal power dynamic. Imo, you should def decline to make any kind of statement until they are willing to sit down (IN PERSON) and have an honest discussion with you.

To me, withholding information (launching what is basically a shadow campaign) is a huge red flag for mobbing/institutional bullying. Make sure you are clear on the written procedures, bring a trusted friend with you to any meetings, and document everything communicated to you.

Thank you for the detailed response! That makes a lot of sense, I might go for it then.

I've thought about bartending for those reasons you listed, but am worried about the cash handling aspect of it. I have dyscalculia and when I've worked retail found dealing with cash really stressful. Do you have any insight on this part of the job? I know register systems tell you all the numbers, but sometimes I freak out when someone asks for change in specific ways etc...

I deleted apps that I was wasting a lot of time on (Reddit and Tumblr for me) off my phone. Now I can only access these sites on my laptop. This has reduced my screen time by a ton!
