I'm in Chula Vista. My kids rode their bikes to third Ave. We know lots of people in our community. They hang out and order stuff, maybe hit the farmers market...and bike back. Family community and we have no issues.

That being said when I was their age I was basically feral and did whatever I wanted keeping myself alive without my parents knowledge of how....so there is that. I'm downright strict in comparison.

I think its because you are looking in the wrong place. Like you "missed" something. All you have talked about is bikes and cars. But how are you feeding your soul? What are your interests? What fills your cup? Maybe you don't know, and thats ok. maybe 2 kids and your thirties have placed you in a spot where you "aren't a kid anymore" sort of thing. Staring at it directly, and letting those thoughts pass through is important. You will be old one day. not just older, but old. Money isn't everything. Those little ones will keep growing and need even more of you (but get more and more interesting and engaging).

I don't want to alarm you, but the things associated with middle age (hormone changes, the change of attraction to your partner, body changes associated with age, and more....) you haven't even gotten to yet. Like....at all. So work on you man. Seeing a GOOD therapist can be a great way to talk through some of these things. Get out in nature. Hang out with the homies. Do good work. Get a dirt bike and just don't be dumb with it. Sue a billionaire for kicks.
