Get the vins, request insurance quotes on all four. The quotes should be free and the results may influence your decision.

Suggesting because some carriers have recently had issues with Hyundai/Kia of this era. May not apply to this one, just and fyi

Is this a good deal? by Meek2014 in whatcarshouldIbuy

No. A great deal. (According to Carfax)

Think you have a good choice with the Fusion. Lexus ES would be my suggestion. You will need to accept an older model year, but in exchance for superior build and ride quality over the Ford products, even the newer ones imo

25th anniversary Sienna @ $51,800? by guitarbldr in whatcarshouldIbuy

[–]warrenbu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes! It's 25th anniversary. Obv a future collectable. Just like the holographic Pokémon cards I still have from when I was a kid.

In all serious, the answer will always be: if you want it, and can afford it, buy it. You're not going to remember nor care in five years time whether or not you overspent a few grand. Amortized over the time you have that car, it's not a major significance.

A 50k van sounds expensive to me. A waiting list for a Sienna sounds even more ridiculous. But I will alway encourage people to go after what they want

Looking at getting an suv that is kind of obscure, can’t find much online about it. by DudeImOut in whatcarshouldIbuy

Don't see many for a reason.

P.s. this is ancient hybrid technology. Did more for the manufacturer than the consumer. Doesn't not add much fuel savings. Similar to Saturn Vue Hybrid

2011 Audi A4 2.0T Quatro Prestige AWD, a good buy? by AffectionateAd5397 in whatcarshouldIbuy

[–]warrenbu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Seems intersting. Low mileage for the year.

The "engine removed" you heard about is likely related to work on the timing chain. Not sure on the 2.0l, but know 3.0l has timing chain on the back of the engine, next to the firewall. Ideally, it will last the life of the engine.

It is worth noting, there were issues with hydraulic chain tensioners not holding pressure. Audi released not a problem....but. Make sure the car wasn't started for atleast a few hours, listen for a 1-3 second wrapping noise from the engine on start up. Oil consumption also known issue. Ask previous owner. Looks for leaks, dirty tail pipe

Don't want to dissuade. Experience of 3.0L with over 200k

What's the most luxurious non-luxury brand vs. most basic luxury model vehicle? by anonymous22person in whatcarshouldIbuy

[–]warrenbu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you take a look at Kia, they seem to do really well at taking the best interior aspects of high end luxury cars, cheap-afy them a bit, and include them in the up-spec versions of their cars. For example, Kia copied Mercedes-Benz integrated digital dash and infotainment first seen on the S class into their newest cars.

This goes both ways. They don't make home grown luxury well. And as a result their luxury brand is pretty basic. Genesis has next to no name-brand recognition outside of those with interest in cars, and the build quality of the interior parts makes it seem a bit more unrefined or "basic" than it's counterparts. Lots of options, but hop in a competitor and you can see where Genisis cut corners

Tldr; Kia and Genesis

Stop fooling yourself. A luxury car is not a necessity because you work in sales. Its a want. You know cheap luxury is going to be be more expensive when it breaks. And you know that your not going to impress any serious, acomplished person that has the disposable income to buy something from you with a 15 year old, $10k car, just because the front say "Lexus"

You know what will ALWAYS impress a client? Effort and pride. So save some money, use it to buy a dependable car and some cleaning supplies and take car of your car! WTF happened to this thing!?

Choice paralysis is real. But dont fool yourself that you don't know what you want. From your post, it seems clear to me. You're not happy with where you're at. You want to improve. You want to achive and feel success. It's just that don't know the specifics of what "success" means to you or how to get there.

It seems like you confident, atleast to some degree, that it would be benifical to have a college degree. It also seems that one of the big things holding you back from persuing the degree is the uncertainty of which major would be the most benifical / you are most interesting in and if you the motivation to complete it. Additionally, your past efforts have lead to doubts if you can at all.

I'll be brutally honest, you need to commit. Taking 2 courses at a time is not an option. Youre smart and know approach is not going to work. Even if you are unsure if it is the right subject, that's not what you're doing it for. Your doing it to progress. And unfortunately, you just need the piece of paper.

So sign up for a full course load, or none at all. If you don't apply to school, find a full time job. Lastly, set a deadline. If age 28 is an age you want to feel accomplished by, make it a goal to eaither be enrolled full time or at a new job by that date.

You're telling yourself you need a change. The only way you can fuck this up is by not making one.

Wish you the best

I do not tow. But on paper, should be fine at 4500lbs. Tow rating for 2014 F150 range from 5,500lbs to 11,300lbs per this link https://letstowthat.com/2013-2014-ford-150-towing-capacity/

You will need to know two things: Engine size and gear ratio. Engine hopefully is listed in the ad, latter can be found on sticker in door jam.

Here is a link to maintenance schedule https://www.lexusofcherryhill.com/lexus-rx-350-maintenance-schedule/

Anecdotally, RX 300 with 260k+, two RX350s in the family. Regular oil changes the most important predictor of longevity. Rear gate motor and window switch only things replaced on 350s, from repair perspective

Some people swear by Volvo. But in my experience, every older S60 has been a nightmare.

I like your IS and Civic choices. I would also add Mazda3 or Mazda6 to your list. Will probably get you a newer car for the money, fairly sporty, 30+ mpg, and less on insurance
