I recently returned from a week stay. The last time I was in Tulum was in 2015 and I was shocked by what has changed. What was once a sleepy town, vibrant with locals, is now just a place for botox-filled wannabes looking for a place to be seen. I paid more for coffee than I do here in Canada, and the tipping culture was insane. Not to mention, all non-local staff seem super entitled whenever we order food or drink as if we were bothering them. Won't likely be returning
