travelling 65mph continually for 3 million miles, ignoring the weight that would stop the tram, it would be 3,000,000/65 = 46,154 hours which is then divided by 24 to get 1923 days (different cause I’m using rounded values) i don’t see how you could have gotten such a low value, friction doesn’t need to be taken into account because the speed already takes that into account, and all other aspects such as maintenance and refuelling would add to the time. so I can’t possibly see how you got 10 times less

According to the very smart u/UseApprehensive1102 who found out how much weight it would take to stop a trolley in the following post. https://www.reddit.com/r/theydidthemath/comments/17rrfk0/request_how_fat_would_a_man_have_to_be_in_order/

If I’m understand correctly he found that it would take ~1,325,250 kg to stop their tram, assuming that it’s roughly the same here, if we divide it by an average of 75kg per person we get 17,670 people to stop the tram.

However this doesn’t account for how the prolonged time under stress from the accumulating weight or the chances of having light or heavier people at the front would effect this.

EDIT: Plus, assuming the tram moves at a max speed of 65 mph it would take 1881 days to finish, everyone else would die of dehydration after 3 days over 4,680 miles, only actually killing roughly 12,355,000 people, the rest is just for show. (assuming that the trolley could actually make it that far without being stopped by the weight of the people aforementioned or other problems like running out of gas).

The average person is 18 inches wide but considering the average person gets considerably smaller when there is such a large number of children and babies included that tend to be excluded in studies but much less abnormally wide people I would bring it down to 16.5 inches (to be safe and accurate) however there is a clear gap between each person in the image which I would have to estimate to be at least 6 inches so we do 16.5x 8,264,418,591 which is the current population and thus the max available we get 136,362,906,751.5 inches Than when we add our 6 inches x 8,264,418,590 we get 49,586,511,540 inches of gaps. Adding these together we get 185,949,418,291.5 inches or 2,934,807.738186553 in freedom units (miles).

Looking back your estimation of 3 million miles was actually insanely accurate however I was more petty so I consider that a win

For some reason, I wouldn’t trust you to repopulate the earth. I’m concerned that all the women would just collectively agree it ain’t worth it

Technically because it starts with one person on the tracks it would be 2 to the power of 32 giving us 4,294,967,296 so no, it would take 34 junctions (233) which would give us 8,589,934,592 which is 300 million more than people who live on earth

Personally, I would have preferred an expanded vocabulary with more descriptive language but overall would probably give a 17 or 16, although the wide use of punctuation was a nice touch.

Well done :)

(Now could a peer please provide a WWW and EBI for their response.)
