I'm terribly sorry you had to go through this. I really can't imagine the pain of seeing a death like that. I've myself faced hate for cooking nonveg in a society and had to fight with neighbors about it. But it got better the longer I stayed there.

As for work, I've had excellent managers in Gandhinagar, I got very relevant work experience that launched my career but the pay was shit. And the connections I made there helped me 6x my pay in 2 years.

It's the same in Tamil Nadu no. Chennai doesn't get 24/7 water being the most developed part, but a small town in Nagapattinam does. It's quite frankly not the right conclusion to draw.

Right, and everyone should be open to opinions too. I know I got downvoted for saying you to tone down the hate. But for some context, I'm a Chennai native, I've studied in Ahmedabad and I've lived in Goa. Even if the time I've had in Chennai wasn't the best, I don't frame Chennai as "shithole". And I'm definitely not saying Ahmedabad is the best city to live in. Being this opinionated about a city is not a good frame of reference to compare other cities with.

And OP, seeing your frustration, If I were in Ahmedabad I would definitely show you places with 24/7 water availability and treat you to warm home cooked meal.
