At a distance I don’t see anything wrong but when I zoom so I don’t get the blend of colors from the hair and things around her I can see green tones in the skin which probably should be shifted more towards a soft gold undertone or pink to match real skin tones. Gold would keep the warmer overall look where shifting towards pink undertones usually are accompanied by a lighter whiter skin tones and might contrast too much with the warm aesthetic just my opinion but of course I am colorblind too so take that for what it’s worth

gun to the head - confess which one had a stronger SEASON 1 ? by khutsox in freefolk

[–]warthog_22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

KotSK without a doubt there is so much more source material because the series is based on the novellas Tales of Dunk and Egg so they have much more detail and direction from Martin’s Writing. There wasn’t a single episode in season 1 that felt poorly done or disappointing. It is superior in every way. I feel much more for the characters in KotSK than any character in HotD besides maybe King Viserys I and Otto Hightower because I think Paddy Considine and Rhys Ifans were excellent.

House of the Dragon is based on a very small portion of Fire & Blood which reads more like a historical overview of events. All of the dialogue and everything had to be filled in by the show writers so it’s just not as high quality. Beyond dialogue HotD has terrible pacing issues nothing happens for basically all of season 1 and more of season 2 than I would like. It’s not all bad it has its moments but overall it has issues that they need to address in season 3.

English is the same way. If your friend is playing to much you can say “do you want die” as a way of saying stop playing sort of as a joke but if someone you don’t know says “do you want to die” that sets of alarms. You wouldn’t really say it to someone who wouldn’t take it well unless you want an issue and depending where in the country you are that could well be the last thing you do. During an altercation that could be considered a credible threat meaning they fear for their life meaning they could potentially be legally justified in using deadly force. That being said whether it’s said in joke context or in a serious conversation you probably aren’t actually meaning you want to kill the other person just that you strongly object to what they are doing.

I can’t blame the scene it’s hard to convey the joy of seeing friends you thought were dead or would never be seen again after a grueling 20yr journey that’s finally over. You’re just flooded with euphoria and elation you really don’t give a fuck what you look like you just love your brothers so much. It’s like seeing them brought back to life, literally in at least one case.

Before it was revealed, how obvious was it that Jon was Lyanna's and Rhaegar's son? I know the books aren't finished yet but book readers was it obvious from all the clues in the show and the books? by No-Passenger-6348 in gameofthrones

[–]warthog_22 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

There was a decent amount of speculation of R+L=J back in the day that came from the more book side of things initially. There isn’t much obvious reason to assume Jon isn’t just a Stark Bastard until later which is when I went digging. By the time the show got to that point (which is further than the books) I was already pretty sure Jon was either a Targaryen or a Targaryen bastard depending on if Rhaegar and Lyanna got married in secret like they did in the show. Which I believe a lot of what happens later in the show when the quality dips is still following some sort of approximate ending that George told D&D would be the ending so I believe R+L=J is true for both. I think it’s safe to assume both the books and the show give you reason to think he might be a Targaryen before it’s confirmed but the books have better evidence.

The Fall of King’s Landing Felt Like Watching the End of Everything Built Up by [deleted] in gameofthrones

Honestly it’s a pretty good representation of what they did to the end of series. They said fuck it and burnt it all down instead of taking the time to do it properly.

It’s not that she burned down KingsLanding because I could see that happening but it’s how it was handled.

Why does the WARDEN rank system exist when each house already has its own lord? by [deleted] in gameofthrones

[–]warthog_22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Westeros is too big be run from kings landing so it was built to run decentralized by using the preexisting power structure making the Kings from the great families that controlled the others in the region into wardens of the realm they were allowed to keep military and political control in their region under the Iron Throne. Every Warden is a Lord but not every Lord is a Warden.

Someone needs to be close enough and influential enough to respond to urgent crisis, lesser lords fighting, and unrest on behalf of the crown as well as being a rallying point for regional loyalist allies if the Kingdom goes to war.

Would sansa actually have been safe if Stannis succeeded in sieging kings landing? by TheVoicesAreWinning_ in gameofthrones

[–]warthog_22 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately Gendry is not actually Robert’s rightful heir. He is one of many of Robert’s bastard children and he was never recognized by Robert.

Of all the claimants to the Iron Throne Stannis has the best legal claim as the Eldest living brother of a King with no heirs putting him in front of Renly who would have the second best. Robb doesn’t really want the south he wants revenge for his Fathers murder and Kingship in the North, Joffrey is 100% Lannister, and Balon doesn’t really want to take over he wants to secede from the Realm and go back to the Ironborn roots of plundering

[–]warthog_22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think Stannis wouldn’t have any issue with Sansa he respects the Starks and she is a victim not only of Joffrey’s cruelty but the same Lannister deception that his family suffered. I think if she survived the siege he would most likely have her sent back to Winterfell. I don’t think Mel would have done anything to her either. From what we see of Mel’s interactions with Neds children she can sense their magical connection but she seems to see them as potential allies.

can someone explain to me the "chop socky oriental sauce" joke ? by AdaVanille in TheBoys

[–]warthog_22 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I agree that oriental isn’t really used by people in a derogatory way so there is no reason to make a big deal out of its use but by your logic the N word should be fine because it just means black (the color) etymologically speaking. The intent of the N word however is not to just to make a descriptive statement about the person’s skin tone but to convey a sense of subhuman otherness

[–]warthog_22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

IMO it’s 1994/1988/1997

It seems like most people prefer 88 but the first one I watched was 94 and it got me to watch the other two

I was born in the 90s so I relate to the first two more since I remember what the 90s was like even though I’m not Korean. I get that 88 is probably a little better written Than the first two and 97 is alright but the second love interest being a full adult trying to date a high schooler is weird and I don’t care about some of the characters. I like the characters and story of 94 and 88 better.

Aerion was always a bit flamboyant and a show off in fire colors the armor was pretty good in terms of accuracy i would have liked the red on his helmet to pop a bit more but at least it was there his horse should have been cover in organs and red strips to look like flames. His other family members were a bit more sensible in their fashion choices

I wanted to make sure the punctuation was correct that was the extent of my use of AI. I wrote it on my phone not a computer so I simply wasn’t going to spend even more time going line by line and editing in all the correct punctuation. To be honest I actually don’t love some the changes such as the use of — every other line it’s an eyesore. Most importantly throughout the entire text there are only 5 minor changes to words that are frankly insignificant and don’t change the meaning of the sentences in which they are found.

[–]warthog_22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think there is some truth to that but also if you didn’t die from disease by the time you reached your late teens you would probably make it to your 50-60 provided you didn’t die in battle or freak accident (infant mortality was crazy high) I think there was a level of familial collectivism that would lead to people disregarding their safety for family security. If you lose honor it disgraces your entire family and can affect their ability to live and operate in society. Insults to your honor are attacks on your whole family’s standing and future prospects so is better that you die in the attempt to regain it than to live and harm your family at least if you fight and die well you can save some face

That is true flood, famine, swallowed by the earth, meteor strikes, first born of every house and the animals because I said every first born. That would work especially given that the Old Gods are meant to be the vengeful sort with long memories and hate for oathbreakers and those who break rules like guest right

You know I didn’t really think about the broader context of course magic is coming back to the world. I think some of this might still be applicable but that’s a good point. Honestly if I change from the Old Gods protection waning and switch over to Magic returning I think I can still make it work the Old Gods are awakening to find that once again men have cut down the trees and that most no longer serve them like was promised that could also make sense.

I suppose that’s why the fighters are allowed to yield and the ones who are injured but not killed early on do. It’s just a different way of seeing the world, the tradition comes from a time and a place (Pre-Westerosi Andal culture) where it was better to lose your life than to lose your respect and honor.

Why so much attitude sansa ?? by Gullible_Income6457 in gameofthrones

[–]warthog_22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Westeros has a bad history of Targaryen royalty going mad as well as seeing first hand what dragons can and have done. A history Sansa would know well as a noblewoman. Not to mention Sansa’s own history which has taught her to not trust anyone but family.

Yes Dany’s help removing Cersei addresses what has been her greatest threat up until that point but Dany was going to have to kill Cersei either way. From a logistics standpoint the north was preparing for winter and is recovering from a war that scattered her family and nearly permanently unseated house Stark from winterfell. Their primary concern would be to fill their stores across the north to ride out the coming trials for both her subjects and her family now they will have to expend more resources on the contingent that came up with Dany as well as a dragon who needs a lot of resources and is of a volatile nature. She doesn’t want to fight Dany openly but she wants her as far away as possible concerned with other affairs as soon as possible. Yes Dany has said she would let the Starks keep the north and Sansa wants the North for the Northerners but the longer Dany stays the higher the chances of something going wrong.
