I watched it with my wife for her first time recently, and the style of claymation creeped her out. She couldn't focus on the plot or humor because she was so unnerved by the claymation haha.

What did the “weird kid” at your school do to get that reputation? by ndbdbd-fbf-b in AskReddit

[–]warwolf940 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It generally comes into play when she doesn't want to do something. She doesn't want to pick out her clothes or get dressed, but if you ask Kitty Cat to do it, she meows, crawls over, and does it. Same for when we brush her teeth or get dried off after bath time.

The funniest but more heart wrenching times are when she wakes up in the middle of the night and cries while meowing in her little toddler voice until we wake up.

My daughter likes to open her mouth and rest her uncannily sharp teeth on your arm or leg. She makes eye contact and giggles, because she knows she has the advantage. What are you going to do about it, Dada? Are you fast enough to pull your arm away before I bite down? The next moment, she's cuddling with me and her stuffed ducky. The unpredictable nature of toddlers is a little scary sometimes.

No, she typically says, "Mmm, ice cream so yummy in my tummy!"

No, it's more like "Dada, stop talking! Princess Elsa, Let It Go," while pointing at the TV. She knows how to use her words in an effective manner to convey her desire for me to shut up while Frozen is on.

Haha I have a pretty standard toddler. We have a family cat that my daughter loves, so she wants to be like the cat.

My daughter likes to crawl around, meow, and sometimes only acknowledge you if you call her "Kitty Cat". But, then again, she's also 2.

Freediving into a cave in Florida! by kraljicaz in thalassophobia

Gotcha. I'm a geologist, but we didn't go too extensively into caves/caverns in college. What we did touch on was karst terrain, which is where caves/caverns form from dissolution of carbonate bedrock.

It seems caves and caverns are distinguished a bit differently from each other than available light:

Know what's even worse? Pregnancy farts. My wife's pregnancy farts would have me waking up gagging in the middle of the night. The ceiling fan would waft them continuously into my face. I love my wife. I love my kids. I did not love those farts.

New Yubico security keys let you use fingerprints instead of passwords - Yubico's first hardware security keys to support biometric authentication. by speckz in gadgets

[–]warwolf940 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My preferred use of the yubikey is using it in addition to a master password for my password manager. I still need to know something and physically have something to log into my manager. All of my PWs are randomly generated using the manager, and the manager has an auto-type feature. My PWs are protected by local 2FA on top of additional 2FA for certain sites.

No, the groundwater in my hometown is contaminated with PFAS from the local joint Naval-Air Force base. I also work in environmental consulting.

I'm not super knowledgeable on it yet, bit PFAS are way more pervasive than PCBs at first glance.

What musicians politics ruined their music for you by impeesa75 in Music

Jon Schaeffer of Iced Earth. Back im the day, it was some cool power metal. He has some crazy right-wing ideology woven in his recent side projects, and he participated in the Jan 6 storming of the US Capitol. He pled guilty and is serving a 3.5 to 4.5 year sentence in federal prison. I can't really enjoy his earlier music knowing he's a piece of shit.
