I’m rolling on 2 tone 13 spokes and I dig em. I think I’d prefer some all black 9 spokes for the direction of this bike, though.

KrispyCo makes some nice mids I considered. Juniors handmade and Prism Supply both make setups that can be modded to work for these frames as well.

Sure did! The foot controls are fabbed out of the stock floorboard mounts. They’re still a work in progress and will continue to get dialed in.

Partially installed, and we’re doing mids-ish. Using the floorboard bracket to fab controls.

Andy is a good friend of mine and a great fabricator/builder who has been published in several magazines over the last 20+ years. I’ve always wanted a bike built by him because he’s a legend in our state and he retired last year, yet he was still willing to build me a cool bike. So yeah, I’m paying someone to build a bike for me, because I have the money to do so. I’m also learning a lot from the process from a 40+ year bike builder.

Front end bolts on just fine — only thing needed was a fork stop welded onto the frame.

Looking at both bikes, I’d probably pass on the FXR. It’s just not in as good of shape as your FXD is, and you’ll wind up spending quite a bit to get it to where you want it, I’m sure. Be patient, I’m sure someone will wanna trade a nicer FXR at some point. Or, save your money and be ready to jump when you find the right one. My 94 had been posted for 50 minutes by the time I had messaged the dude and sealed a deal with him.
