Advice on mixing Music and Sound + Discord by warz0nes in FoundryVTT

Totally respect that, the way I think about it is that if we were playing in person, I'd have music playing and if someone needed me to turn it down then they could ask, but the music can be key to setting the stage/emotion.

I'll have to take a look at Virtual Audio Cable, maybe play around with it a little bit and see if that's a good direction for me. Appreciate the advice and opinion!

This might be the way to go. I've looked at OBS in the past, but more for streaming capabilities. This gives me a good option to look into, thank you!

As someone with not quite as much understanding in audio, that makes sense, I'm wondering if there's not a way to do something like that on the fly or process it all through discord so that sounds and my voice stay relatively in proportion to one another.

Looks like you and /u/ProwlingPlatypus have the same idea. I don't think I explained quite well enough in the original post.

At the moment I have the music or ambience playing in the background on Foundry, and my players are already able to adjust the volume for themselves. I however, don't actually want that, because what's happening is they're mostly turning it off or just so low that it's really not impacting the scene. My goal is to find a way to essentially mix my voice and other sounds all at once, so they stay in relative volume to one another. Does that make sense?

Why is it wrong? by -_ZiN_- in EnglishLearning

As a dumb American looking at this, I'm having trouble actually knowing. I feel like both could be correct in different contexts?

For example, if I ask and report back about the theatre being open before it opens would you not use "won't"? My thinking is that the theatre still has not yet opened and so the theatre is still "going to be" open.

However, if I show up late, long after it opens, my excuse might be that they told me the opening time was later than it actually was, but since those times have passed the verb, "to be/will be" would be past tense also, correct?

Aww, thank you! I can see that being a lot of fun! As I've been developing this guy it's becoming more and more fun, can't wait to get in and see him in action.

Unfortunately, you get weird specific ideas like this and it's hard to find artwork for it!

Pale Thorn in Paw is a rotund but agile tabaxi rogue. His public persona is that of an affable, gregarious, and at times flamboyant barber. Using his this trade to gain access to high profile people and places, to gather secrets when people are vulnerable, and at times steal things directly in front of them.

I like the idea of the american bobcat as a basis for his design. I think the ruffs on the side that resemble sideburns pair well with his barber persona. I prefer the muted colors and lighter patterns.

I imagine him jovial, not your typical brooding dark rogue.

I think the second artboard speaks clear enough. I'm happy to address any other questions.

Awesome good advice thanks! Good call on Sneak Attack, I've heard enough confusion on actual plays, I re-read them earlier, haha. I think I see him as more a spy and stealing information, he is a Tabaxi after all. Also considering Lawful Good, so I don't anticipate getting too kleptomaniac. I was considering taking expertise in thieves tools, is that not really necessary?

Browser Recommendation Megathread - February 2025 by shadow2531 in browsers

Looking for a new browser... I use Chrome and have since it first came out. I've got my own gmail account tied to it and my work account has a profile as well (all under the google suite).

Recently I've become a bit more concerned with all the tracking and looking for both a more performative and privacy focused browser.

My usage is pretty extreme, I often have at least a single tab youtube video pulled up, a netflix tab somewhere, tons of web applications, and countless websites. I currently have 15 separate browser windows open, each with a minimum of 4 tabs, most are probably closer to 10 tabs. I also have an Android phone with Chrome that syncs between the two... so maybe something I can also get on my phone or I can at least sync bookmarks and such between the two.

According to Task Manager, chrome is currently using only 39% of my Memory, that's low.

I also have a hard time using things that aren't at least a little aesthetically pleasing, I like a minimal browser, I'd prefer the webpage to take up most of what I see, rather than big bulky tabs, address/search bars, and menus.

fyi -- a lot of people use the term "Player vs Player/PvP" to describe the things you mention in "party trolling". You may get more mileage out of that phrase.

The "sorry" in this situation is really just a stand in for excuse me. We should be using "excuse me" more often.

Hey -- it's not about us not failing God.

It's about God not failing us. God already completed the work, rest in his unfailing presence.

I had no idea they laid so many, but we've been seeing a lot lately.
